Two equal and opposite charges separated by some distance constitute a dipole. The product of the charge and distance between them is called the dipole moment. Dipole moment represents the strength of the dipole. The electric field generated by the dipole is proportional to the dipole moment. Let's explore more about dipoles and dipole moments in this video.
Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. I am literally crying after seeing this. After learning physics in school I realized teachers themselves don't know what a dipole moment is but they know what to write in exams to score marks . I honestly wish I lived in a country where the beauty of any subject is more important than scoring marks .

Don't comment much, but this was extremely useful. I found 50 videos online telling me HOW to calculate the dipole moment, and tricks to do it faster for JEE and whatnot, but not a single one that actually explained what a dipole moment is. This really makes me regret the quality of education i've received all these years and continue to receive, when I could have been watching these instead.
