I am really enjoying the content since you got your own place. You seem much more relaxed and this comes across in the way you make videos and that you now share a lot more with us. I wonder if your old boss had some rules on what you could shoot and now of course you can shoot whatever you like. It's like everything has loosened up and you are happier, much more content and at ease. It puts a genuine smile on my face for you.

The shop I work at is a local mom and pop shop. Couple months back had a paper next to the time clock said no pictures or videos allowed in the shop. One guys snapchat story was all it took, granted we're goofy mfs. I'm sure any corporation/big company would have more strict rules from the beginning.

Hi@@DirtiestDan6969. Don't misunderstand, whatever else they may have disagreed about it was honestly pretty cool of the old place to let Ray make videos at all. I would be surprised if there were not some rules and that's perfectly reasonable. It's fun to see the difference when there are no rules and Ray can do his thing but a bit more relaxed and a bit more, I dunno if informal is the right word, friendlier maybe? It's the same stuff, but with a bit of an extra dimension and I am liking the change.

I live in NE Ohio, too. When I bought my 6-7 year old Rav4, they had spray painted the wheels and any exposed metal silver (to match the car's color). I spotted it right away; nothing on the wheels was flat. The look was bumpy and crusty. I like driving my Rav4, but as usual for a northen car, that rust is starting to come through.

I did some work on a Dodge Stratus, Horrible design for the battery by the way. From it being in the wheel well the water splashed up under the guards made the battery leak on the frame combined with road salt ate the entire battery mount and lower frame away had to cut it all out and weld into a new assembly. Fun times.

That looks more like a street-tower 5G implementation to me. They're usually from 10-35 feet tall. Same with gunshot alert systems but the mics on those have to be 1-3 feet from each other, and they usually overhang the road or walkway some too, and sometimes have dome-style cameras on them too (to look for muzzle flash). Anyway, good find on the hard to find part, I'm sure the customer appreciates it. Good content as always!

Working at a museum in the 90's in Canmore, Alberta. Had an officer visit from Miami. They were looking to buy a new house in Miami so drove around the area of each one listening for the least amount of gunfire. And here's me in Canmore not locking my doors the last ten years. Wow!

On the Ford you definitely have to program the new EPAS unit. If the EPAS unit is still talking, you can download its programming then upload to the new unit. If it is not talking, then you must download the programming for the VIN number from Ford and upload to the new unit.
@waltergraves3273
@waltergraves3273 Жыл бұрын
Of course the download from Ford requires a rather expensive annual subscription with them whereas if the unit is still talking, all you need is the aforementioned expensive diagnostic scanner that has the programming function. Unfortunately for my 2012 Mustang the unit stopped talking - no comm from the EPAS. Luckily I was military and our auto hobby shop had both the programmer and an active subscription so was able to program the new unit at no cost. Was a bear to remove though. Had to drop the subframe to get enough access to get an impact wrench on the three mounting bolts. Although you can get a wrench on them, you cannot get enough leverage to break them loose. After fighting it got two hours, I dropped the subframe.

I'd have to clean up the bolts and lubricate before refitting them, for important bolts I would use a torque wrench. That said these are very enjoyable videos. Good luck Ray with your new business.
@andries4561

Torque setting is usually right in the middle of snug and breaking point of said fastener, doing them like this surely gets them past the torque spec but they don't break so its all good. I understand a Torque wrench is good, but most technicians know how tight stuff needs to be

Hi Ray, I'm unsure if you notice but the rubber dust seal on the track rod end O/S had a small split in it even though they came with the steering mechanism. Hope you don't mind me asking Ray, but when you left your other place of work did they have any indication that you were going to go alone?
