Electric hybrid conversion kit for all classic pedal and pop mopeds.

This electric conversion kit is sold as a set of forks that contain the complete kit including built up wheel with hub motor ,controller in the fairing along with LED headlamp and a handlerbar mounted thumb throttle.
This allows the original petrol motor to still be used, meaning either, either OR both together at the same time. Instalation is as easy as swopping out the forks and adding an Ebike battery ( not included ) on the rear,ideally 48v 20ah with a 50A BMS readily available on-line .
This kit is seen as not only a conversion to electric for the purpose of riding in restricted Ultra Low Emission Zones but ALSO as an overall vast improvment to the preformance enhancer when used as a twin motor set up it gives a turbo like boost to help with acceleration from a standing start and gets up to the 30mph much quicker.
On it's own the electric motor will pull away faster and reach 30 mph equivalent to the original set up , range is deteremined by battery AH's the 48v 20Ah can do 25 miles on average , you have the option to buy bigger or smaller OR a second battery depending on your range requirement.
Both engine together do not increase speed only accleration, once up to top speed the pretol engine can hold it and no longer needs the electric assist.

Can this kit be used on mopeds other than the Puch Maxi? I see main issue being steering head bearings? And possibly wiring if there is any wiring integration between the Electric Motor conversion and the moped's original circuitry?

What's the overall weight increase compared to stock?

The hub motor is about 2/3 kgs more than the original hub and the battery is 5 kgs so like carrying a bag of heavy shopping

Hiya, I'm not certain how this would this be ULEZ compliant given that it's still got the ice motor which would surely fail?

Classic vehicles are compliant so 40 years + can go into ULEZ zone , it's hybrid so turn off petrol engine and ride it on electric only ideally in ULEZ zone. It's something that adds to the mopeds preformance in terms of accleration which was a pleasent surprice to us , if you tried it out with the twin motors and compared the preformace to the old single petrol motor prefomance , it's an amazing boost in power from the standing start which is exactly the helping hand these things need.

Ironic really, considering we just bought a 1969 VW Kombi precisely to avoid ULEZ complications. I like the idea of a 2WD motorcycle, I can see a silly bit of green-laning coming.

Motorcycles are exempt in Birmingham anyway as are tricycles, I use my reliant robin to go through ulez for free.
