There was this vid I watched a few weeks back of a guy using a kalimba through a few pedals like this too. I never thought a kalimba could sound so metal. LOL. Great stuff man. : )

thanks! That's the Montreal Assembly Count to 5, in mode 1. It's a pitch shifting delay/sampler, and it's endlessly inspiring.

Great video! Where did you buy the electric kalimba please. Been thinking about trying this with my own pedal board. All kalimbas I have seen have all been jack in only. Does your kalimba have in/like most pedals? Best, Mik

Thanks! It's a Hugh Tracey Alto Kalimba with pickup, it has the one jack (out) and I just run a standard 1/4" TS guitar cable from it into the front of my pedalboard. I got mine from a local music store: hmtrad.com/collections/percussion-instruments/products/hugh-tracey-alto-kalimba-w-pickup

Are there any good (cheap) pedals I can buy for an electric kalimba? I looked up that blue pedal and it's like $500!
@peterthomas4182 жыл бұрын
I didn't buy any of these pedals for kalimba, I already had them for guitar/synth. Maybe a multieffect unit so you can experiment? I know r/guitarpedals likes the zoom multistomp, and it's relatively affordable. Or you could try a DAW like garageband and try some free plugins.

the zoom multieffect pedals would be good and the midrange one is like 100 new
