Everywhere the sun is shining. All around the world it's shining. But cold winds blow across your mind. Confusion--it's such a terrible shame. Confusion--you don't know what you're sayin'. You've lost your love and you just can't carry on. You feel there's no-one there for you to lean on. Every night you're out there darlin'. You're always out there runnin'. And I see that lost look in your eyes. Confusion, I don't know what I should do. Confusion, I leave it all up to you. You've lost your love and you just can't carry on. You feel there's no-one there for you to lean on. Dark is the road you wander. And as you stand there under. The starry sky, you feel sad inside. Confusion, you know it's drivin' me wild. Confusion, it comes as no big surprise. You've lost your love and you just can't carry on. You feel there's no-one there for you to lean on.

In 2012, when my youngest daughter at the age of 7 then was trying to cope with understanding why her parents were going through such a difficult divorce, she told me that this song which I had introduced her to a few years earlier had helped her get through the 'rough times' when she was apart from me. It was a profound statement for a child of her age, but showed me the ability of music to transcend the emotional gap that can be bridged to help explain a frightening concept of adulthood to someone who is still trying to formulate an understanding of the cruel world and I appreciate how harmoniously ELO's members brought so much to their studio sessions.

This is my all-time favourite song from ELO,from their 1979 studio album-Discovery,and well written and performed throughout.
Still playing this album 41 years after I bought it on vinyl !! Def ELO's best album. I think I converted a whole block of flats to ELO fans in 1979 by blasting it out on my stereo from a 2nd floor flat at all hours! Never had any complaints about the noise until one night my mate put The Clash and the Sex Pistols on. The neighbours didn't like PUNK and didn't seem to appreciate Johnny Rotten!

Grandioso. Un abrazo cordial.
