Honestly, you can get a used zero motorcycle that can go over 100 miles an hour. 0 to 60 in under five seconds with a range of over 100 miles and level two charging for less than this thing costs. Even though it looks very cool it’s too expensive.

This take seems crazy. Zeroes and Energicas are all between $15k-25k before fees and taxes. Those are premium high end bikes and super expensive. This is a budget electric bike for $6,999. To me this is a steal. I can go into my local motorcycle dealer right now and not see anything even close to this price except 15 year old used bikes. With all this tech, and 111mi of range - this price seems too good to be true. Can’t understand how people are unhappy with this lol

After having 2 I AM’s for many weeks, I feel like my below comment is pertinent to the main comments on this video so I’m pasting it here from a reply I made to another commenter. My original post below: The reviewer’s bike does NOT have blind spot radar. That is NOT a standard option on the bike that you buy in the US. In the US, rear end lights have to have a specific surface area and if the radar is installed, the bike does NOT have the required rear light surface area. You have to buy the radar for $99 from the Naxeon website and install it yourself AFTER you have the bike inspected for your tag or it will fail inspection. I have the blind spot radar installed on my bike and it works 50% of the time and each time it activates ALL of the bike’s lights except the headlight turn off - it’s a bug that Naxeon has acknowledged and it working on a fix for, but right now the rear-radar is unusable even if you have it installed. As for the top speeds, you have two options in the bike’s settings. One prioritizes temperature safety and the other prioritizes power. This bike will NOT hit and maintain 65+ mph if you’re prioritizing temperature. It also has very bad top speeds capability going uphill. There are hills around my home that I have to use full throttle AND use boost to maintain the posted 45mph speed limit. Notice how many reviewers of this bike don’t ever venture into any real inclines. Their “hills” are miniscule. On straights, this bike is fine but if your commutes has ANY kind of a hill, you’re not doing much over 45mph up it. There are roads near me that have 55mph posted speed limits on hills that I can’t do 45mph up with full throttle AND boost, so I avoid these roads. I’m a 200lb rider in the Southeastern US. The Level 2 charging is a joke. It charges at level 2 speeds for around 30 minutes then ramps down to 800-1200 watts due to internal charger temperatures. So yes, it technically charges at Level 2 speeds, but for a very short period of time. Once it slows down charging speed due to apparent heat buildup of the internal charger, it will stay at what is essentially Level 1 charging speeds for the next 1h 30m. Then it cools enough to resume Level 2 charging speeds for a short period, around 20 minutes, then the bike will charge the rest of the battery at Level 1 speeds. As far as range, this bike’s range is very very very bad on hills. On my daily commute, the drive is 12 miles, first 3/4 is steep hills up with the last 1/4 being downhill. The regenerative braking, even on high, basically doesn’t restore any battery. On my drive it doesn’t make a single % difference. You can’t feel any obvious slowdown and the dash says under full regen the battery is charging .02kw. That’s essentially nothing. Just doing the 12 miles to my work, I use 50% of the battery. The reason being I have to use full throttle + Boost every 30 seconds it’s available to maintain the speed limit. By the time I work all day and then drive home, my I AM is at 8% when I get home. That’s 92% power usage to travel 24 miles round trip. The bike says it uses 145 Wh/m to do that drive. My tesla only uses 224 Wh/m and it’s a whole car. Once the I AM battery hits 5% it goes to snail mode and the top speed is ~5mph. So you really only have 95% of the battery to actually use for the commute. Getting within 3% of that threshold means I have to charge at work because I’m not confident cutting it that close each time. 3% disappears from this bike in a blink. As an aside, I’ve had 2 I AM’s. My first one was damaged in shipping and Naxeon bent over backwards to get me a new bike. Their customer support was A+++. That being said, the damaged bike was drivable during the 2 weeks I waited for the replacement and the above comment is true for both bikes that I’ve had. So, it’s not likely that the above shortcomings are unique to my current I AM only. I absolutely LOVE the way the I AM looks, though. Wish they made a dual hub motor version- that would be plenty of power - plus you’d get 2x regenerative braking and could probably send smaller amount of power to each motor than you currently have to send to a single motor (look up multiple motor electric efficiency; 2 10,000w motors are more efficient than 1 20,000w motor). I became a believer in dual hub motors thanks to the Aniioki A9 Dual Max. This bike is a decent starting point for Naxeon’s aim of a flat-ground urban commuter but they need to really improve on the next iteration in terms of hills, heat, and efficiency. 70mph without boost should be a given on something like this- the current hub motors performance over 50mph on flats and 35-40mph on hills just isn’t enough. TLDR: great features, looks great, usable level terrain speed, usable level terrain range, very very very bad range on hills, very very bad uphill speed/torque, charging speed isn’t as advertised, radar doesn’t currently work and it’s an after-purchase additional purchase, bike has a tendency to overheat in charging and at full throttle.

Good review, it kept me interested. Takeaway... After seeing some of the comments, this e-scooter isn't for everyone. It seems underpowered compared to others, which means that if you use it other than a flat region you'll be disappointed. Knowing the basics of electric motors and batteries, your performance will be different if used in a hot climate like Arizona or Florida or cold climates, then again, I don’t expect much riding in cold climates. The scooter looks amazing & futuristic. The options and lighting are also very cool and attractive, although I've learned from experience that the more gadgets, the more prone you are for something to fail. Bottom line, you're paying a substantial amount of $$ for looks and leaving practicality & efficiency for last.

This is actually pretty good from what I see. No, it is not a launcher, but it is not the easiest thing to find a decent E-bike with a price under 10k new. I really like the Ultraviolette F77 but it doesn't exist in the US. My only complaint to this vid is I'm pretty sure you (or I) missed mentioning some key features - the two cameras (as you would expect) run TOGETHER as a built-in automated dashcam. That is a really nice feature and since it is built-into the bike it should work well and need no external batteries, cables, charging, vibration mounts, etc. The other item is it has a built-in RADAR for collision avoidance (120 degree rear detection) to prevent accidental lane changes, of either you not seeing them, or more likely them not seeing you. 65 is a bit slow (as is the boosted 68) but it would get you ON and off a freeway for a short run, which given the low range makes sense. The L2 charging is rare on e-motorcycles (without lots of $) which means you can use an actual charging station. Yes, its a bit slow, but at least it is possible. Faster charging means more cost and weight. Go compare this to the Kawasaki offerings. Both their hybrid and e-bikes are a joke compared to this and both cost more and have almost none of the features of this. I wonder how well this (and the battery) stands up to heat, such as AZ levels (120F+) of heat. Usually electric vehicles need cooling, both during charge/storage as well as riding.

You can turn the lights off if you don’t need or want them. I never turn them off on mine and they have virtually no impact on the battery. I left the bike on overnight with the screen and every single light on except the headlight and it burned 2% in 8 hours. If lights are on while you’re driving, the changes in wind would use more power than the lights, so I don’t worry about them.
