Yo, for the money you’ve spent on those golden motor controllers, there are far better options. U can get another 40% top speed with “field weakening” 200 battery amps and 450 phase amps. QS are distributors of the SVMC 72200, as an example of a more modern controller. For an obscenely featured controller platform, look at VESC 6. There are a few ppl making controllers built on that spec. Lastly, Endless Sphere is the peak source of electric info on the web.

What do you mean field weakening? Currently my controller is at 220amp battery draw, 500amp phase current. The batteries might be the limiting factor in the build, i’ll find this out when I hook up the gauge and I see what it’s really using.

@@Krisuno give me a buzz and I can try to clue you on on field weakening and such. It’s also true we could hook you up with SVMC although I think the sevcon is just a pain to tune more than it is limiting.

So what speed are you trying to achieve with the pit bike? Like the 60mph club?

@@Krisuno Ah I gotcha. Cuz with the motor on the zero you could probably hit 60, but with no pick up and go. Have you ever thought about putting a tourque converter and/or a gear box on an E motor? Even though an electric motor is powerful enough, wouldn't that improve torque and speed range without a using stronger motor? As well as performance of the batteries mileage? I am planning on building a electric shifter kart video with this method. Do you think this would improve performance without an increase in power? Or would it cause a loss in power. Cuz I have literally seen nobody do this. Im interested in the preformance change.

@@brandonleuchtag8022 interesting idea! I think the idea makes sense but I wonder if the losses from turning all of that metal would balance out. You will also be introducing a lot of weight. There are some pretty trick 4 speed gear box and motor in ones out there. By utilizing that you drop the weight of the torque converter and or clutch system as electrics don’t need them. We helped build an Alta powered shifter kart last year, it was a blast! Highly recommend you proceed with your build as they are a riot!

@@ElectroBraap thanks a lot that is definitely encouraging. I plan on using those jenky transmissions. And trying a tourque converter. I’m not extremely worried about the weight as far as balance goes. Initially, it is a completely jenk, rudimentary experiment to see what works best. And what advantages/disadvantages I find. And share it so people know why or why not to use a transmition. My main goal is to bring the availability of an electric powerhouse at a lower cost. Mostly because I can’t afford the top notch myself. Definitely within my next few project ideas. Love your vids tho bro. That grom is absolutely insane.

Why don't you turn on the flux weakening and turn the amps up to get more top speed out of it? That's what I do with my bike it increased quite a bit up to 8 to 10 mph. Both those bikes look super dope dude!
