Pretty happy with my ghost as well. Did 740 miles in six months and then lost a down tube bearing. Not a big deal, but it took 6 months to get the bearing from China as its proprietary. Other than that, it’s been perfectly fine and it’s very sturdy.
@scootscootpev27612 жыл бұрын
740 miles in 6 months is very respectable. What a bummer having to wait so long for your replacement part. I've thought about preparing some spare parts to have around just in case but can't plan for everything. Thanks for the comment and thank you for watching. Scoot Scoot!

Have about 300 miles on my ghost and just picked up a 2nd (BOGO deal.) Also enjoying every minute. Interested in introducing friends into skootin but concerned if they bust their butt on it. Do you let others ride your scooter? Do you film them or have them sign something accepting all responsibility before getting on? (Equipping them with safety gear & instruction ofc) Side note, single motor and gear 1 should be used by default when starting on a new scooter.
@scootscootpev27613 жыл бұрын
Safety first. Yes, I let friends ride my scooters. I feel you on the liability issue, so I always provide safety rules and offer all my safety equipment. However, because they are friends I will not have them sign anything. If I did not know them I would have them sign accepting all responsibility, but this situation has not come up yet. Enjoy your scooters, I love having more than one scooter so I can choose the proper scooter for the occasion, or have a friend join in on the fun.

What I am looking for is a fast scooter with good range that has very smooth easily controllable non-twitchy acceleration at slow speeds so that beginners and experienced riders can both enjoy it. Ideally it shouldn’t be necessary to take it out of dual or turbo to make it smooth but maybe I could live with that. Wondering if you think the Ghost fits that bill-Thanks so much (Currently I have a wolf warrior x pro that is so twitchy that my girlfriend won't ride it)
@scootscootpev27612 жыл бұрын
Candidly, I would not put the Ghost in the smooth acceleration category. I think the Ghost is built for torque. Have you tried lowering the power settings on your scooter using P-settings? I think what you are describing is a scooter with a sine wave controller, from what I understand acceleration is much smoother with that type of controller (I haven't been able to try a sine wave controller so not entirely sure). I think the Wolf warrior base model has a sine wave controller.

Looking at this Apollo Ghost and it seems like one of the best options. The highest I would go is $2100. The Speedway 5 is one I was looking at as well as the Apollo Phantom. For the Absolute best bang for your buck, what scooter would you recommend at $2100?
@scootscootpev27612 жыл бұрын
Good question. Really tough to say. You likely can't go wrong with either of those choices. The speedway build quality - like the suspension is likely really nice. But for value it seems to me the Phantom V2 has many nice value features like upgraded display, foot rest in the rear, and the option to get hydraulic brakes - it didn't appear the speedway 5 had hydraulic as an option. Good luck!
@MagicMikeBilliards2 жыл бұрын
@@scootscootpev2761 After doing more research, the speedway 5 does not have an ip rating. So I have now come down to the Apollo Ghost and the VSett10+ . I have to ask is 34mph on the Ghost enough to give me a rush and get me places in a timely manor. Idk why but I keep convincing myself I need the vsett10+ (46-50mph) because 34mph is too slow. Feel free to prove me wrong and save me money.
@scootscootpev27612 жыл бұрын
@@MagicMikeBilliards Ha ha!! 34 is super fast, but depends on you. What I love about the Ghost is the torque and acceleration for the value. No doubt the vsett10+ has that acceleration, but at a higher price. However, the vsett has a bigger battery which to me is a bigger deal than going 34 mph vs 44 mph. decisions decisions...fwiw Vsett10+ is on my short list this year for which scooter I'm buying.

@@scootscootpev2761 I live in a town with almost no e scooters nor traffic but gas just cost a lot with me doing doordash as well does not help. The furthest I would go in my town( Round trip ) is about 20 miles but I want a decent amount more than that. The highways here are 65 and I may go on them occasionally. Just wanna make sure 34mph isn’t too slow for what I want
@scootscootpev27612 жыл бұрын
@@MagicMikeBilliards Sounds like a good place to ride. Keep in mind, the faster you go the less range you have. If you need to get 20 miles out of the Ghost (18.4ah batt) then you're going to be in first gear most the time.

I've been shopping for a scooter but won't get one till spring because ohio weather sucks! Whats the longest range you reached?
@scootscootpev27613 жыл бұрын
Yeah, rain and cold weather really put a damper on riding. I've never attempted a long range ride on the Ghost, my longest ride was around 16 miles. Although, I am confident if I left it in 1st gear I would be able to travel over 20 miles of range. It is hard not to use the power when it is there.

So quick question if I’m getting this scooter to ride side by side with my gf while she’s riding a bike and I still want that ghosts power whenever I want would it be dumb to cruise at low speeds while I’m at the highest speed settings? Just so I don’t have to keep switching gears and can just ride
@scootscootpev27612 жыл бұрын
Great question. No, you would be okay. It is easy to switch speed settings on the fly - you could use Eco Mode or switch to Single Motor mode. With full power and at the speeds bicyclist go you will have so much torque, and it will probably be hard to stay at such a slow speed. You can do it though. Thanks for watching. Scoot Scoot!

@scootscootpev27612 жыл бұрын
@@albatrapstar9030 That is a great question. Keep in mind I have not had a chance to ride the Dualtron Mini. Ghost hands down. For me it comes down to how I'm going to ride and what type of rider I am. I love torque, so I want to be able to rip it off the line and get to 25-30 mph as fast as possible. And, I am not a light rider, with my gear I ride around 200 lbs. No doubt the Mini is a really nice scooter. But I suspect it is not as fast off the line as the Ghost. I do not need a lot of portability, so the fact the Ghost is heavier is not a big deal. Being that I am about 6 feet tall, the Ghost having the stem height I want right out of the box is a big plus. I would need to add an height adapter to the Mini if I bought it. Plus the Ghost has 10' inch tires, where as the Mini has 9' inch tires. If I was a smaller, lighter rider I would personally consider the Mini, or if I needed more portability. Fun decision.

Any problems with ypur phantom since you started riding it? I was looking into the black friday deals, particularly at the Apollo Phantom, but folks are saying to steer away as ot breaks down easily. Apparently the ghost is not made by Apollo, and was just rebranded, so I assume thats a good thing?

I have the Ghost, not the Phantom. I could not comment on the Phantom other than I think Apollo has made some adjustments and improvements since first releasing the Phantom. The Ghost has been great for me all around. The Ghost is Apollo's version of the VDM-10. Hope that helps. In terms of BF deals, Apollo's look fantastic.

@scootscootpev27613 жыл бұрын
Good question. I have the regular mechanical breaks. There is no question regular breaks have the stopping power, but they do take some adjusting periodically. For me, the breaks are easy to pull with two fingers so I still can maintain a good grip. No doubt the hydraulic breaks would be an upgrade, but not needed. Good luck with your decision.

Eeek, that sounds like a bad experience, sorry that happened to you. I do know it is possible to get a "lemon". Getting flat tires is part of riding, but it seems like your experience was exceptionally bad? I'm interested in hearing more of your story. Did the rear rim come shipped cracked? That would be unacceptable.
@ryangenge59702 жыл бұрын
Maybe it’s because you wrecked it? Why did the tubes blow out? Not covered under warranty because it’s easy for a neglectful rider who is hard on the equipment to wreck it. You mean seized* right? Maybe look at yourself instead of blaming the company unless it’s actually a lemon? All I hear are great things.
