This is one of the most interesting motors for commuting I've come across
@michaeldelay3925 Жыл бұрын
If you loosen (not remove) the other nuts on the clutch cover, the recommended amount of oil goes right in. It also works for removing the old oil when changing it. Just remember to tighten them back again. I love this motor. I've heard it was a slow engine, but mine can do about 40 mph and climbs even steep hills with little effort. My husband thought his motor was faster, but I waved at him as I passed him on a steep hill. And on a straight stretch. It has some power. Don't rely on the pull start. I was never able to pull-start it (I'm a 63 year old lady), I just don't have the upper body strength, and it broke right away anyway. It's a dam good engine. It was my first build, and I really didn't have any problem installing it. I had to buy a crank adapter because my crank was a one piece, and I did put in a hub adapter eventually. Otherwise, it was not a difficult build.

I have been waiting for this vid... this is an very entertaining motor, i had a motorized bike once with a aluminum frame powdercoated yellow with an standard motor (80cc) 21mm pwk. it runned fine, actually it had so much power it ripped all the spokes...
@ultimateearrapechannel31 Жыл бұрын
Lol I also destroyed 3 wheels bc of too much power. What fixed it for me was a hub sprocket mount. No more broken spokes

You should try using a milwaukee 12v batery instead of the one it comes with it should work and it can be mounted to the frame with a small 3d printed adapter

From what I remember of working on mine, it has a 6 pole stator capable of 60W output. It's identical to the 6 pole stator used in the various GY6 engine variants.

I love these motors. Low vibration and they are reliable from my experience. I run the 100 with a 36 tooth sprocket. The only problem i see is the head gets hot on long rides in the hot summer. Looking forward to see how you modify your 80.
@bryduhbikeguy Жыл бұрын
It sounded pretty good.Thanks for showing the problems too.I've looked at the kits,but at @2x a regular kit,I'll just pedal to start.I don't recall ever seeing a 'centrifugal clutch' in 1.I've seen a way to adapt 1 in,but that's neat it's built in.It'll be interesting to see how well it handles your rides.Thanks.

I think there was a centrifugal clutxh kit for sale, there just wasn't many of them due to low demand. Those kits didn't have a bucking bar and clutxh cam at all. They had a one way bearing to be able to pedal start the bike
@icancraftsomething Жыл бұрын
@@Matthew-wj8cm First of all, they are still being sold. Second, as im running one right now, I can definitely assure you it still has its bucking bar installed. The clutch replaces your engine's drive gear, which allows you to still use your bucking bar to disengage the engine with the manual clutch.

Interesting to watch I’m happy to see there’s no mental shavings in the ports considering getting one now and the oil helps the clutch separate and not stick the friction plates from aluminium plates so clutch would have hard time disengaging also could cause premature wear as you said I’d imagine it’s a simulator clutch to a Honda gx 2:1 reduction gearbox if adding performance and clutch starts slipping could be possible to stack extra clutch fiction and metal plates on top of one another for extra grip

@michaeldelay3925 Жыл бұрын
I think if you rest the engine every 30 miles and let it cool down completely, you can travel until you run out of road. Just take an extra tube or patch kit and an inflator, some basic tools, and water to stay hydrated. Just my opinion, good 👍 luck to you!

I though about getting the bullet train when I got my first kit. Glad I didn't because I had working on wiring. I got the BT100 instead and it's a work horse. I drive it every day in a hilly town and it handles everything with no problem. Do you have any plans in the future doing a review of that kit? If not, I get it; you've got a lot of other things to review. I was just curious.

Because our mountain retreat center is off-grid it would be really sensible to do some charging during the commute up the very steep Logging road does this motor have a really solid low-end power production..?.. Can it really pull and output torque at low RPMs for very very steep hills?.. what would you suggest for long distance and really steep commuting?
@michaeldelay3925 Жыл бұрын
It comes with a 44 tooth sprocket, so it takes hills well. You can always put on a bigger sprocket if needed. It has a lot of power. Just my opinion, of course. Best of luck to you. I hope you figure it out.
