Double Layer winding | Complete Winding Basics_Part-2: • Complete concept of wi...
Closed type windings: In this type of winding there is a closed path around the armature or stator. Starting from any point, the winding path can be followed through all the turns and starting point can be reached. Such windings are used in DC machines.
Open windings: There is no closed path in the windings. Such windings are used in AC machines(star connected).
TYPES AND SHAPES OF WINDING WIRES:
The winding wires used in electrical motors are classified as follows.
1. Round Wires: It has thin and thick conductors and are used in semi-closed slot type motors and mush winding rotors. It is wounded in reels and available in Kilograms.
2. Rectangular straps: It is used in open type slot motors. These conductors are available as long straps in meters. They are used in the following places. a) Low voltage motor windings. b) Used as conductor in high current motor. c) Series field motor winding coils.
Commutator pitch: The distance between the two commutator segments to which the two ends of a coil are connected is called commutator pitch and is designated as yc and is measured in terms of commutator segments.

Excellent presentation and thank you for presenting it in English language. I follow many videos on YOU TUBE from India in the field of Electrical, Electronics, computer, switch mode power supplies and although they are presented in Hindi, I still enjoy them. The on line classes from the Universities and other schools there in India are in English and very well presented. I am now a new subscriber and will be following all future presentations as well as your present ones. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Thank you so much Sir. You are really doing a great work. Please keep it up. Winding is the most confused topic for an Electrical Engineer . yet you make us understand it so well. The way you used 3D models to help us visualize it ; is the best way to teach it. Please continue the hard work. It's a request Sir.

@bhuvanakrishna1960
@bhuvanakrishna1960 6 жыл бұрын
induction motor performance can be seen with circle diagram , if you want to learn circle diagram then there are easy steps . first read the working of induction motor second enlist all the components / parameters are useful for working / running of the motor third now start doing the graphical representation step by step from referance axix , do first understand the meaning of property being projected via X axis and Y axis . fourth not sync with the theory and the actual diagram with proper notation for the induction motor .

I am still confused on the winding setup of an 3 phase alternator sir... In which a coil with multiple turns is inserted on 1st and 6th slot... so from 1st slot then to 6th slot and back to 1st slot until it creates multiple turns and so on until it will become 3 phase alternator can you please explain it and please include how the electrons flows due to pole pitch? And I thought that the more poles the better since it only needs low rpm to generate high frequency
