That’s a great option for residential applications. You don’t need to match the amps on the incoming service for sure. It’s really what you want to include overall on the load. Nice explanation!

I landed 2 different circuits in a sub panel where there were 4 smart modules, is that safe? Those new circuits won’t have the module

What happens if when the loads are slowly brought back online and there still is an overload of the generator? Will these modules turn the power off for good the4 the appliances connected to them?

I have a 400 amp service. I have 3 ac units on on one 200 amp cutoff and everything else on 200 amp cutoff. Can I use 1 whole house transfer switch and allow it to turn off both breaker boxes and then have the air conditioners on load shed modules?

Great question!! You are likely going to need to have install 2 transfer switches installed.

@@ElectricalCodeCoach when you say “likely” who determines 1 or 2 transfer switches? Does the amount of current determine if I need 1 or 2 switches? Since they are both being supplied from one generator, why would I need 2 transfer switches?
