I know this is a week late but THANK YOU for discussing rider height/weight. Makes it so much easier to understand about these and make an informed decision.

Being 5'1" there's not a lot of choices, but the 20" wheels and step through styles. The rest is all yours tall people! 😉 Review about the new Blade 2 and the Bolt X from Rize would be appreciated! Nevertheless, goos review!

Thanks Susy! Make sure to message Rize with an email or on social media to let them know you'd like us to review their bikes. It goes a long way towards helping us get them in!

Another interesting review. I know a rider who has the bike, loves riding it, but uses it in throttle mode only because it is uncomfortable to pedal. Your comment on needing a 32, 34, 36 rear cog is spot on. The weight of this bike makes it impossible to load on a hitch bike rack. Also a word of caution that almost no one mentions: a fall. I had an unsettling experience when I took a fall on my Rad Runner that weighed 80+ pounds as I had it equipped. I was pinned under the bike and unable to get an angle to lift the bike off me. Thankfully a passerby saw me and was able to get the bike off me. I mention this because for older riders (myself) this is rarely a consideration though anyone who has ridden a bike has had a fall. I enjoy the thoughtful and comprehensive nature of your reviews.

I think they made mistakes switching the brakes from hydraulic to mechanical. Other than that it's a great bike for the price.

I really love the moped style of this bike, but… you’ve pointed out something very important is the seat is not adjustable up and down which would definitely make a difference in pedaling comfort depending on how tall you are. I’m 5’8” but I think I’d still like to adjust the seat for better pedal comfort just like adjusting the drivers seat in a car.

My husband and I have the Escape and Have about 500 miles on ours. It is definitely a heavy bike, in fact there are is only one bike rack maker that has a bike rack sturdy enough to carry the Escape at it's 93 lbs per bike and that is Quick r Stuff and the waiting list on them is very long, we are still waiting for our rack and probably won't get it until next year sometime. We really enjoy our Escapes and only have a few gripes. First one for me, is the front wheel hydraulic brake which I have to pump the hand brake to get it to stop. Bike shops have not been able to fix the problem and our bike shop even contacted Himiway about it. I guess it is an ongoing problem with the bike. Been awaiting a replacement from Himiway for some time now. I would also reccomend an accessory for the seat so that it could be raised up for taller riders, that is my husbands biggest complaint and he is only 5'7". All in all thought, we really enjoy our Escapes, great ride and lots of fun, Oh and by the way< I'm 70 years young and my husband is 79. Thanks for the great review!

The front brake will need to be bled, air in the fluid
@d1950l19413 жыл бұрын
@@manFromPeterborough thank you but had that done twice, and that didn't work. Luckily for me, my bike shop notified Himiway and Himiway sent the bike shop a replacement hand brake. It seems it is an ongoing problem with their hand brake The new right hand brake works great and haven't had a problem since. Thanks for the reply

Good review and information. We have 2 on order since the beginning of August and still waiting to get them. FYI they no longer come with hydraulic brakes and instead are mechanical. I was pretty bummed about that when I found out after ordering. Himiway customer service said it was because of safety but I find that hard to believe.
@ElectricBikeReport3 жыл бұрын
Because of safety? As in too much bite and you might get thrown off? That's a bit odd.
@redwood19663 жыл бұрын
@@ElectricBikeReport they didn't even tell my why other than "safety" reasons. I find their customer service to be lacking. Still looking forward to getting them.

Great video. I don't have a Himiway, but this one interest me, due to its size. Too bad it is so heavy though. I have owned a RAD Power, Rad Rover for a couple years now, and love that bike. Again, great video. Keep it up. You earned my subscription from this.

Yeah the refined zooz is def the one I'd like to buy. Zooz 55 lbs versus Himiway 95 lbs. The heavy ones look cool (Ariel, Himiway, Scorpion) but they too heavy esp if u live in apartment. Zooz hits all the sweet spots: fast, light, fun, rugged

Hello, I recently purchased a fat tire electric bike, the himiway escape. These spokes are the 6 aluminum alloy spokes, and I am having issues truing my tires, I use water and soap applied to the sides and used a air compressor, no matter how many times I deflate and inflate it the tires are not straight, it has one are two imperfections. Do these tires really need to be true? What issues would happen if I were to ride the ebike like this.

Hi, Is this bike good for mild offroad (e.g., forest service roads)?

Should be okay, though Himiway has ones that are much better suited for it (cobra or even zebra).

I have been thinking of buying me and my wife an E-Bike, but I am a big guy and weigh about 250lbs. What would be a good bike powerful enough for my weight? If they even make one for people like me:P

Had so much trouble with Himiway. They tried to replace my faulty motor 3 times instead of letting me ship the bike back for a replacement. Took 6 months and I had to take it to a mechanic to replace. Then, still didn’t work and they wanted me to buy another one and return the old one before they would send me a new one. I think they’re customer service is in China? Just get something local because Himiway doesn’t know how to fix their problems.
