Best Video for troubleshooting E-bikes. I just got mine 3 days ago and tonight was the first time where I had to fold it up and transport it. After taking it out the bike wasn't working. I tried everything from checking the wires multiple times to checking the fuses, the battery...etc. I was running out of options and frustrated. After watching this video, I made it to the 3:41 second mark until I realized it was the brake! Super helpful! Thank you!

This video saved a trip to the repair shop for me. I have a five year old Genze. The company folded up almost 2 years ago. What to do? I recently had the original battery rebuilt. Had power to the LCD, but bicycle no go. After watching this video, I checked the motor shut off, which looked a lot like the one pictured, under the hand brake. Lo and behold it had come a bit loose and was shifted sideways maybe a quarter of an inch. I put it back where it belonged, tightened the screw and voila! I'm back in business. Thanks much!

*Excellent, very informative!* The video features a discussion at Myron's Xtreme Machines in Fullerton, California, focusing on troubleshooting electric bicycles. Here’s a summary of the main points covered: 1. Battery Check: The first step in troubleshooting is to verify that the battery has enough voltage. A voltmeter can be used to check the voltage directly from the battery or via connectors. A fully charged 48-volt battery should read around 52 volts. 2. Connections: Loose or bent prongs in the battery connectors can prevent power from reaching the bike. It's important to check these connections for proper contact. 3. Brake Inhibitors: If the bike powers on but doesn't function, the brake inhibitors may be causing a cutoff. Inspecting the brake levers and ensuring they are not bent or misaligned can resolve this issue. 4. Wiring Issues: Tracing wires to check for disconnections or damage is essential. Problems with the throttle, pedal assist, or cadence sensors can also prevent the bike from functioning properly. 5. Torque Sensors: Advanced bikes might have torque sensors that can malfunction, leading to issues with pedal assist. If adjustments don’t work, these may need to be replaced. 6. Maintenance Tips: Regular maintenance is crucial to avoid problems, such as ensuring all parts are tight and properly assembled. This includes checking the bottom bracket and keeping wiring clear of pinch points. 7. Professional Help: If troubleshooting at home doesn’t resolve the issue, seeking help from a local electric bike shop is recommended, especially if the bike is complex. 8. Safety: Wearing a helmet while riding is emphasized as a critical safety measure. Overall, the video provides practical advice for diagnosing common electric bike issues and highlights the importance of regular maintenance and safety precautions.

You probably won't read this comment. But I can't thank you enough for this video. I have an ebike kit that hasn't work for a while. I have been trying different methods, spending lots of money to try and sort it out, brought the wrong wire connectors etc. I got to a point where I almost gave up. But when you mentioned the brake lever being ever so slightly pulled, I check mine and where you put the cable, that was stopping it from being fully closed. I can't believe after all that money and that was the bloody issue.

Thank you, Thank You Thank YOU, I just crashed my Sondor's today and bent the front fork forcing the front wheel into the frame. The front tire was pushed so far back I couldn't steer at all. I was able to turn the handle bar around in reverse and steer but I had to disconnect the front brake at the handle bars to make a 190 degree turn of the handle bars. By doing so I didn't realize until I watch this video that I cause the Brake lever to disconnect the Brake Inhibitor Switch and there for caused the motor not to work. It did work for about 100 feet but then stopped. Because I bent the forks the tire was rubbing and causing what felt like breaking, which I thought I might have damaged the motor because of over heating. That wasn't the case, once I fixed the Brake Lever everything works fine. Everything except the front Fork, it will need to be replaced. Thank you for making these very informative video's.

It’s surprising that the experienced e-bike shop is not describing one common electrical problem, the LCD display connected to the power button pad got bad. Which problem can be nailed down by simply plugging the battery and see whether they can be charged regardless of the e- bike not powering up. If the battery is charging then the faulty is the display which can be easy replaced and the new kit of display cabled to the power switch on/off will be connected instead.

Thank you very much for this video. The prongs weren't lining up right on mine. I went to a bike shop and they told me I needed a new battery and tried to charge me $580 for it. I cussed them out and "threw franks" all over the place. I seen this video and came up with an idea, I put some aluminum that I got off a take out food plate and surrounded the prongs with it to complete the charge. Now the bike works like new, and I got it off of Facebook marketplace for $150 because the original owner didn't know how to diagnose the problem lol. Now I got a great ebike for $150. I feel like going back to the bike shop, showing them how I fixed it without purchasing a new battery, and cuss them out some more, but I will leave it alone and be happy that I got a bike that was dirt cheap to work.

A simple error by a bike shop which turned out to be a disaster for me: Cyrusher XF-900 Rear Hub Motor; they placed the 'tab washer' on the wrong side of the dropout (disc brake rotor side) and the rear wheel eventually came off when I attempted to move. If this happened when I was already moving the outcome could have been disastrous. Both tab washers need to be on the inside of the dropout with the tabs both pointing away from the bike.

A few days later her mom showed up returning the bike saying she was “ casual riding ” and the motor deadstopped her, she frontflipped and had to go to the hospital with face and body scratches. We accepted the return but the bike doesnt throttle even on full charge, and everything seems to be fine and properly connected but I’ll check the controller and throttle more in detail..fingers crossed

Initial response: Got this bike for my friend. kzbin.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ Delivery was fast. And the friend was surprised I would order it when she had never suggested she wanted anything but the pedal bike she had. She has now ridden the bike two times and gives it a 10 and says it is very fun. We have some hills in our town that are very challenging to climb on a typical bike. But tonight she went up with the pedal assist and loved it. I was way behind on my standard bike, huffing and puffing. Now she is no longer lagging behind me. This thing is powerful enough that a person could go around town without any pedaling. She likes to get some exercise so on flat ground she hits the red button to turn off pedal assist and only uses the twist throttle when she's in a tough spot. The bike looks good. It is really a very nice bike for the friend. Now for me, when I get an electric bike, I'm twice her size and will be looking for a bigger watt motor and battery. But this one is just wonderful for my friend. I am happy with this purchase.

I noticed I'll try not to. I've written it in the wet a lot recently when I took apart the controller, safety box or whatever you want to call it and check my wiring. I went to the solder one of the wires that wasn't a straight connection is like the connection piece on the end of each wire. One for the battery went from the controller so I had to solder that together because the tips were so corroded I didn't think I could even clean it once I did try to clean it, it just started bending it back connectors. So much that they wouldn't fit back together very well either way. But when I tried to find a clean chunk of the wire to solder tools, I followed it on my back to the controller itself and the wire looked, chard what burned all the way 4-6 inches and I wound up having two soldiers. Basically about 2 inches from the controller unit itself could that have caused my battery to fail Or maybe the bms got tripped

They replaced the controller where the battery slides in and the crank sensor and both still had problems with the assist.
