I get it that Can-Am wanted to go electric, and I'm sure that the Canadian Government really pushed for it. But without an ICE model the growth potential for the brand will be slow and limited. If they had released a 400 to 800cc adventure bike the production line would not be able to keep up.
@lja3657Ай бұрын
It’s just a cost thing. I live in an area this would be perfect. 8 minute commute. And 2 minutes from some trails. I was ready for 9,999. Not 15,000.
@Charles-DarwinАй бұрын
yeah the Ryvid anthem or outset is less than half that
@brankog7Ай бұрын
Hopefully they come down. If they're priced competitively they should sell truck loads
@VoltedAdventuresАй бұрын
Bikes look great, specs are ok, but the price is ridiculous. Great video as always 🫡

That dual sport is along the lines of the Zero FX. I really enjoyed the FX but that's the reason I ended up selling it. It was great that I could ride to close trails to my home, however I didn't have the range to enjoy the trails as long as I wanted and ended up worrying if I had enough juice to make it back home. Hopefully solid state batteries will be sorted out and that will make a enormous difference.
@ElectricCycleRiderАй бұрын
For sure. It's a great category of bike but the range makes it difficult!
@shredmasАй бұрын
I find it closer to the Zero DS I owned.

First thing I thought was the ZERO..................sure looks similar!!!

If this bike was 7k id have one in my garage

Yeah pricing on electric motorcycles is going to keep a lot of people out of the game for awhile.
@dominicmccrimmonАй бұрын
Good name. Good looks. Good performance. Serious competition for Zero motorcycles.
@zudukaiKilo44Ай бұрын
we need hybrid, something gas but small maybe 15cc or micro gas-turbine whatever and quiet for generating power and 40HP electric motors with at least 250km empty/ extended range. could even use the intake from the gas turbine to cool the battery with some kind of heatsink transfer sitting in the manifold.
@whitejtwАй бұрын
Makes me think of Kawasaki's new hybrid motorcycle but I like where you're getting at more. It would be cool to see someone take a fully electric bike and test this out as a proof of concept by putting a two stroke 50cc scooter motor in a top case wired up to the battery. I wouldn't care if it was loud, just want to see if that little motor running flat out can produce enough power to offset what the bike uses at a steady state throttle condition.

Great to see can am enter the space. Stoked to see them evolve

LOOKING GREAT! EXCITED FOR THE NEW ELECTRIFIED WORLD.
@chrisbahlmann4263Ай бұрын
14k for a bike that only gets realistically 50 miles is just disrespectful.
@Hobbies4HireАй бұрын
Great job on the video folks! Thanks for making it. I feel like these bikes have some dope features, and I wouldn't mind owning one. But at that price point, there should be no question about who these bikes are for. As soon as you slide over the $10k mark, you need to have a target market that views the bike as a must-have. They should be industry-leading for that much money.
@RPRosen-ki2fkАй бұрын
Yeah everyone is sniping on these but, I think they did an EXCELLENT job. Looks like they've engineered great performing products here and it's their first attempt to boot. EV bikes are in their infancy. If Can=Am exercises good business decisions they're well on the path to being a major player in the EV bike sector.
@christian5475Ай бұрын
electric adv thats so sick
@brankog7Ай бұрын
Both great looking bikes. For the road trail if I were to put it in my van to get to the trails, the available range would be OK. It doesn't look to big or heavy to load up
@AbnormalWrenchАй бұрын
I'd love the Origin to replace my Zero FX, but it is 100 pounds heavier - no go
@johnking828812 күн бұрын
wonder if you could put the 17" pulse weeks on the Origin?
@slizurpjoe880618 күн бұрын
Seems like the quality is miles better then the stark varg. You also wont have to wait a year due to back orders to get one unlike the stark varg.
@geetoo3024Ай бұрын
Man I want a viable electric motorcycle so bad. But no one can make one with current energy density. The Can-Am looks cool, but like you said has no real use case except running around town. Love my ultra bee but still need about double the range before I sell my 300. I'm afraid we're a lot farther from getting a street bike with any meaningful range/charging solution.
@davidzelkowski9948Ай бұрын
Range, range, range. The shortcomings of any electric vehicle. I have a Surron and a KTM 500 EXCF. The Surron had a 30 mile range. I doubled the battery capacity and its range. But the KTM will go 100+ miles on a tank. I use the Surron for trail maintenance but the range is too short for anything else. Also you can't get a bottle of electricity from your buddies if you run out.
@Charles-DarwinАй бұрын
the moto-e-bike startups should band together and standardize the battery pack and put up hot-swap kiosks. then as the battery tech gets better, they just update the packs at the kiosks. make it a subscription service, then sell the bike 'body' for less since no battery = more sales
@davidzelkowski9948Ай бұрын
I don't imagine any hot swap kiosks popping up in northern Michigan. It's tough to find a gas station at times.
@ridefastdieold5475Ай бұрын
I love the concept , looks and truly innovative power train. But i do think that Can-Am missed the mark by not going for a full dirt bike, in this moment i think its the best platform for electric bikes. Also it's not enough to just rely on charge stations, having a quick release batteries for quick extended range with incentives for gas stations (or whatever business) to have an exchange program. It is the only way these are going to take off in the mainstream otherwise it will always be a niche toy. And to charge $15K for a frankly inferior "toy" is setting up the bike for failure.
@brentcollins9727Ай бұрын
Battery depletion is an issue too. In seven months and 2,500 miles, I’m starting to lose some range on my 35 mph E bike.
@landrover325Ай бұрын
Sure it's not temperature related ?
@brentcollins9727Ай бұрын
@ , it’s still summer time in Houston. Lol
@enduro_jАй бұрын
Definitely a cool bike. Can ams are know for being unreliable (ask any mechanic) and I doubt that self adjusting chain would last long.
@GisheyАй бұрын
I really hope that they stick to it, new battery tech is always around the corner and we'll eventually get some breakthru for lighter, more powerful battery.
@Z0ttMonteАй бұрын
Yeah thx but I rather take the new freeride or a stark varg (when a street legal version releases)
@ElectricCycleRiderАй бұрын
Fair enough, we're still going to review bikes other than the Freeride and Stark Varg!
@BrawndoDrinkerАй бұрын
Saw a video on the e-Ninja, thing looks useless. Crazy that companies really lose the core concepts so easily.
@WillValor0076 күн бұрын
I knew the price going to be ridiculous on these because of the name Can Am, they should cost somewhere close to 10k or below, especially if it go like 70mi and less range.
@c0c0asauceАй бұрын
I understand why they put the stuff on the bike in the first place but I wonder how much range the origin would gain and how much lighter it would be without the screen, abs, traction control, and other junk that I do not want on an off-road bike.
@ArK047Ай бұрын
It's difficult to justify the necessity of the Pulse's price when the Kollter RS1 exists.
@SFSomegaАй бұрын
Well that "adventure" that you would go on such a thing, has to be either really short, or whith a lot of charging stations along the way.
@NivekH1977Ай бұрын

Sorry Can-Am, I would rather have a street-legal Stark Varg or the new KTM Freeride/Husqvarna Pioneer. Maybe you should produce a competitively priced Alta Redshift. 🤨

Cam-Am, onward to bankruptcy !
@MOTOPSYCHO909Ай бұрын
Can-Am is owned by BRP and has a broad portfolio of products. They are going anywhere. Although I don't think these will sell well at this price.
@j_k9643Ай бұрын
8.9 kWh battery isn't very big, especially compared to the 2024 Zero DS at 14.4 kWh and just $1,000 more.
@Idahoshepherds83440Ай бұрын
I'm not a fan of electric . There is always going to be a "Down Time". And a range before that down time comes. If there was a so to speak recharge battery that was interchangeable for that unit you could buy , put right in and ride that would be alot better.
@derniederrheiner4518Ай бұрын
Can-Am at least talks, on the website, about a range of 160km. Are you serious? Haven't we been further than that before? And apart from that, the tablet in front is a far cry from design. Similar to this board, which is far too often installed in cars.
@AbnormalWrenchАй бұрын
For a 9KWh battery, 100 miles is reasonable if you stay off the freeway
