So....the second line it cold ? Is that why you are connected the ground wire to that line? Why are you connecting the ground wire to the second line? I always thought that you ONLY connected the ground wire from the ground rods to the fence charger??!! THANKS!

@Raven Flores, it is a design that has one or more ground wires on the fence, that way the horse gets a shock even if the dirt is really dry.

@@n.johnson9098 I'm a newbie but AFAIK you can try to use the actual ground (the dirt) as your ground path. So the animal touches the hot wire and the current goes down their leg, into the dirt and back to the ground rod that way. It's not as effective though.
