I install these in the Washington D.C region, and for those who choose to install themselves (something I admire) two notes I have after watching the video: 1) "Dry fit" frunk bucket, as in put in without screwing down, before test close; Often times the adjustment to the latch that pulls the lid close is needed only after the extra resistance of the bucket and it's frunk seal is in place, 2) Put the waterproof sleeve on after you have tested the closing as in 1); Sometimes the closing strength (an adjustment not covered in this video, but is detailed in the Hansshow manual they supply/online) needs adjusting, and only possible from button on side of silver control box.

I did the power trunk install, several weeks ago with the guidance of your video. Great video, the best powertrunk install video. The powerfrunk install is far easier in my opinion...

Great job, guys! Yeah, the power frunk is WAY easier/faster to install than the power trunk. I just installed the foot sensor for the frunk, and it is surprisingly useful!

Do ya'll do anything like sound deadening services for the Model 3, like adding foam in body panels or acoustic material or anything like that? I know there was some interest in opening a location in Ocala FL, which is a bit of a hike for me from the Tampa area, but if you did a service like that and it's not too expensive, I would probably be down. Not that I find the 3 excessively loud, but I wouldn't hate it if it were a little quieter on the highway.

@stefanpetersons18784 жыл бұрын
As anyone can if they have a 12v battery anyways I guess.
@morriec98684 жыл бұрын
You're assuming that the cable doesn't have the same safe guards as the factory emergency frunk release. Perhaps you should take a look at kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2K6g4VneNFqbqM (see the headlights are on and mirrors are outfolded at the start of the video). The manual states 'when the car doesn't have power' (www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/model_3_owners_manual_north_america_en.pdf#page=22). I wouldn't assume this means the HV battery isn't providing power AND the 12v isn't either, rather that the HV isn't providing power, but the 12v is (which of course is all the time). This functionality exists to get to the HV disconnect loop inside the frunk area.

32:55 you should change to speed 4 or 5

6:00 - oh my god I had no idea these have a direct manual external release. That's a horrible idea! Those power terminals are disabled (applying power won't open the frunk) if the car still has +12v power, so effectively the frunk is a safe vault... but putting a manual release there is freaking horrible! :o
