Just updated the EHX 45000...now the SDcard wont show up in finder, but does show up in Disc Utility ? (did check the boxes in settings) also I can´t import Wav.files into the looper . . . why can´t it playback the file? (I did rename it TRACKM)?

It is not exactly exempt of a fadeout capacity. This thing is actually an evolution of EHX's first digital delays. As such, it remains an extremely powerful delay unit in record mode. When armed and recording, track faders at full indicate infinite repeats like on a normal looper but anywhere below they are a delay repeat control. This means that, while recording to a track or stereo track, if your recording track is set anywhere below max, its volume will continually decrease until disappearing completely, as on a delay pedal. As expected, you'll only get a couple of repeats before it fades away if you've got the fader near the bottom. The best thing is that you can practice to try different links and get interesting effects that way. Moving the faders while recording a line can also produce really interesting speed effects. Another cool use of the machine for practice is to find ard-panned songs for instance as in Zeppelin or Coltrane and record them to a stereo track. You now have some of the instrument isolated on one side, which can be great for practicing your instruments against the rest. The input pan know is also really cool because of the way it distributes the image in a a few different flexible ways (can be confusing during setup as center position may not be what you want, especially if you have it set up at the end of your chain after a mixer).

I was thinking about making a tutorial for the 2880 (Because I couldn't find one) - but this 45000 is basically the same thing, isn't it? Great overview and review!

Excelente review Mauricio, este pedal es enorme en cuanto a sus capacidades y estilo. Da la impresión de tener un estudio móvil en las manos. Gracias por tu aporte y por tus consejos también. Daniel

can you still change the tempo with the tempo slider to affect the pitch of the recorded loops even when synched to external mi clock? thanks

THANKS FOR UPLOAD, You could save me a lot of research time, if you would help. here's what i need the 45000 to do for me. I want to use it as a backing player. I use 3 to four track mono songs, all 3 - 4 mins long. I want to record bass, drum ,key's, percussion on those four tracks. I then need to be able to load those tracks quickly, from a song or project, then play it back, all 4 tracks in sync on their own track, with access to each tracks level fader to balance on the fly while performing. will the 45000 do this for me ? many thanks in advance.

Absolutely the right machine for you, specially if you prefer hardware, faders & knobs. You'll just have to read the manual for loading files/tracks into the 45.000 from outside sources. You'll do it via the SD card.

I agree. No tempo viewer has definitely been a problem. What’s the point in saving loops when you cannot recall the original tempo? Other than that, it really is an amazing device.

It’s possible they were trying to keep the cost manageable. They may have had to make that concession, thinking that anyone requiring a bpm-level of control will use midi clock from another machine. Not saying it’s great this way. Just saying, instrument and effects design is a dance between cost, price and features.

I was really hoping this review would cover the drums, please the drums ! Great review but like the other videos on the 45000 no resolution on how to restore the original drums that are so easily erased. Do you know of any way to restore the factory added drums? Any way to buy them ? Any way to add the original via import or download ?? Also how to add your own drum beats ?? Please help.

Oops, sorry to disappoint you N Kai. Actually I never used the factory drums I bought my unit used and they were already gone. In my case no need for the drums so yes, it is a huge omission in my review. I'll try to find out and add what I learn here on the comments. Take care!

I can’t seem to make this thing read wav files I import not sure how to make this happen. Rate? Size? Mode of import into the card. Any idea? Thanks

@@thisriver got the manual and this thing is a pain to import things too. So I got a wav file 16bits 44.1k as per manual y must have the same file x4 in mono and x1 in stereo and also copy and edit one of the tempo files in the other loop folders and set the tempo and add all that to a new folder in the SD card. Man I have done that and nothing works the looper won’t play the song I add. I want to add a song I made and use the looper to play a backing track but it won’t make any sound when I hit play on that bank.

@@DragDealer ok. I'll try it and let you know. I haven't used it like that yet. Maybe try this trick: Play the song from a computer or phone into de looper as an instrument (plug a cable from the computer to the looper's instrument input jack). Record the song as a loop on track 1, either in normal or quantized mode. If you do this you will create the folder with the tempo data and all for a specific memory location. Then grab your SD card and add the wav file as track 2 directly from your computer using the SD card as an external drive. If it works you should be able to play your wav file from track 2 and then erase track 1 with overdub. Finally, send the wav file to the mixdown track for ideal results. Let me know what happens.
