This is definitely one of those best videos on the 45000. Didn't expect that sick demo 🤙🏼

"If you're not playing live then you don't need a looper, I used to to it on software by blahblahblah". Using VSTs as loop stations isn't much fun, even if you're just jamming at home by yourself. They are good for messing around and exploring things when you don't want to go into full on production mode. That shouldn't be overlooked.

Totally agree. I just got a ehx 95000 and have no real aspiration to perform live (I have mercy on my fellow man). It's worth it just to have immediate feedback and be able to experiment easily without having to dick around with software, which messes up your groove.

Christopher Bill you are a massive inspiration in my trombone career. Thank you for making these videos and keep at it. Your great. I wish I could learn from you in person. I've watched all your videos and thanks for the looping demo, I'm interested in learning how to loop and maybe do one for my school. I'm entering my freshmen this next school year. My current band teacher majors on trombone. He is also a great inspiration to me. Anyway, thanks for your time and effort in these videos. Your my favorite trombonist.

Mr Bill, I use to just like you. You were just a cool bone player. Now I LOVE you! So very cool. So empowering. It takes a generous person to share trade secrets. Most will not do it. I remember some time ago going to your web site and looking at your looping equipment. It seemed it totaled like $4,000, way out of reach. Now I can get excited again. When I grow up, I want to be like you. Thank you. Thank you.

can this change from a verse to a chorus part? (in a live situation?) for instance: build up a verse loop, then stop it and immediately switch and start to play a different part with different chords and changes? and all live without hands. and without having anything pre recorded?

Christopher - are you able to undo/redo with the footswich? How do you delete everything across all tracks? Is deleting possible from the footswitch as well?
@classicaltrombone7 жыл бұрын
+Chase Reeves No undo or redo on this one. You can try again if it's the first thing on any of the tracks by using the punch in button to record over the track until you get a good take. If you want to delete everything you can just start a new loop and it will start from scratch, but for me if I want to silence out a track I just hit "punch in" and turn the mic input all the way down, so it record silence over the given track. All of this is done on the board, no foot pedals besides arming the track and hitting record. Hope this helps!!

It was a nice surprise that you looped with another instrument then a guitar. I don't think there are many looping videos like that.
@phoenixrising15763 жыл бұрын
When u mix down do the new empty loops have to be same length/bars as the mixdown? Im thinking that could be a work around in getting dif bar lengths? Obviously u can only mix down once so u could have the mixdown say as 8 bars then loop 1 2 3 4 as 2 bars?

is there a way to clear the loop if something is recorded that you dont like? ive had this looper for a long while and the only way i know to clear a loop is by putting the sd card into my compurer and deleting it. any faster method you may have would be super helpful thanks!

well the 4500 holds its own on delay function since the faders determine, while in record, the number of repeats (all the way up is endless)

Can the individual tracks be separated through the outputs for using multiple amps? For example, can you record a guitar on one track have it output to a guitar amp, then record a bass on another track and have that output to a bass amp?

This is super helpful! Thanks for sharing! Did you experiment with putting sounds on the SD card from Ableton and using them live as well? I'm having a hard time putting them on for some reason, even though I am creating 4 tracks and a master track that are all the same length on each loop file. Let me know if you have some tips about that!

Great demo. Is the stereo mix down of any use in a live situation?
@classicaltrombone7 жыл бұрын
Depends what you're trying to do! I've used it to mix down the A section of the tune and then it frees up all four channels for the B section, then it's just a matter of fading between the mix down and the four mains to go from one section to the other. You could also just mix down your rhythm section or something and it frees up the four for other textures. I tend to not need it, four channels seems to be enough.

@matthewhackett34297 жыл бұрын
Can you go more in depth about panning and and the mix down track?
@classicaltrombone7 жыл бұрын
Panning simply moves what is played on the track from the left output to the right (or both when in the middle.) To use the mix down, you arm it by clicking the mix down button, and then when you hit record, everything that's being played will be recorded to that track. You can create a balanced blend of the original four channels, then record it to the mix down track, and now you've freed up the original four tracks to record something new on each of them by using the "punch in" button to record over what was originally there. You might be able to add the new tracks to the old mix down in the same way, but I've never had the need or gotten that far. I'll try it next time!
@matthewhackett34297 жыл бұрын
Ok. But mix down aside. Is it possible to record 8 tracks on 4? 4panned left and 4 panned right? I know old tape units operate that way

@classicaltrombone2 жыл бұрын
On this specific machine there is no undo/delete button, so you're either recording a new layer on top of a track or recording over the entire track/all of the previously recorded layers on that track (by recording with the punch in button on).
