No, it's not at all clear. The topic is easy, but the video makes it horribly convoluted, and the animations are unbelievably bad. It wouldn't be easy to make something less clear than this video. I'm truly shocked at how bad this video is, managing to make a fairly clear and simple topic less clear and more convoluted, while at the same time failing to mention critical errors you need to avoid.

According to the VDE, the mains must first be switched off, then wait briefly, and then the emergency power must be switched on again. The switches must be mutually interlocked so that both are never switched on at the same time. The system must be immune to very short dropouts.

I haven't done any costing for this. With the help of an electrician, you can do this according to the present day market values. This system works for any size of a generator.

Further to the electrical interlocking arrangement through auxiliary contact points of a magnetic contactor, we can introduce an additional mechanical interlock in between the two main contactors. It will too help stopping both contactors getting power at the same time.

Manual interlocking is not an absolute requirement for contactor interlocking, but it can be useful as an additional safety feature. You will see here, we have provided Auxiliary contact interlocking and timer delay interlocking for this arrangement. You can add more systems for contactor interlocking here, according to your specific system needs.

Single phase breakers are used for control system power only. This 3 phase power lines on both grid and generator sides will surely come through 3-phase breakers fitted before the contractors. I have not included those here to avoid complexity of the diagram on the screen.
