It's a very enjoyable trip down memory lane each day, Life is funny, I know people who have never had a brochure for anything in their life they just always went and bought it, I had to get all reading matter and analyse and make my pro con list.

Really interesting booklet. There was one more Glider in the mainstream range, and that was the autoflex. It was bright pink and was the only upright Electrolux ever made with an automatic flex winder. It was very short lived, and I think it was probably taken out of production before this booklet went to print (I'm sure it didn't come later, as the entire ranges were overhauled in 1994, to include foot-pedals to release the handle on all upright cleaners). The original electronic Glider & Contour cleaners had a "boost" button as opposed to variable power, but the circuit boards in those failed really quickly (I don't know why) so production soon shifted to the long tried-tested-trusted variable power control on both models. Interesting also that the Twin Turbo Z1070 went on sale in the autumn of 1991 as part of the mainstream line-up, yet there's no mention of it in this booklet, despite it still being on sale in some places as late as 1996.

The Masterlux was a fabulous machine, it lasted for many years then suddenly started leaking from the pump motor housing and that was the end of it :-(

Those electroluxes are way different from the American ones at the time and I guess they were made in UK because of the royal crest on them.
