You did well to find a green hose for this model, as there are two versions of the 90 - the most popular (and most troublesome) had a push-fit hose connector, the likes of which were designed for the 90 and in practice were a very poor design that broke easily, so much so that before production ended, Electrolux had changed the fitting to the 3-peg style. Interestingly, the 3-peg had been around for a good many years, but was only ever used on the very basic models. However, at some point it must have become apparent to the designers at Electrolux that it was the lightest, cheapest, and least problematic of all the hose connectors they were using. Thus, from models 77 / 80 / 100 respectively, the 3-peg became the only hose end used across all domestic Electrolux cylinders until the arrival of the Dolphin around 1989. But even then, the 3-peg reigned supreme right into the mid 1990s. As an aside, when the model 90 hose was changed from push-fit to 3-peg, Electrolux also stopped including the sprayer as a standard part - it's interesting, as this was their top model, so you'd think that they'd be providing all the bells & whistles, although I suspect in a bid to keep the retail price where it was, they cut back on this accessory accordingly, I suppose as it was not highly desirable, nor widely available on competitors models. It was never the less still available as an optional extra. The single extension tube is very much the correct one, indeed one of the most distinguishing features of Electrolux cleaners from the early 1960s onwards was the long hose handle & one long extension tube, unlike most other makes of cleaner where a shorter hose handle & two tubes was standard. The first Electrolux cleaners to then break this trend were the 160 & 180 "Slimline" models, where a short hose handle & two short tubes were used, simply because the cardboard box containing the Slimline cleaners was too small to accommodate one long extension tube.

@@hoovermaster You are most welcome. Two other things I didn't pick up on the first time I watched this video - one, the floor tool. I have no idea if yours is an early or late floor tool, because the neck of the tool where the extension tube connects is metal. Now, on the first of the model 65 cleaners, the neck is metal, but then it later changes to cream plastic to match the cleaner. The model 90s that I've seen all had a green plastic neck, however, from model 100 on-wards, Electrolux reverted to a metal neck, as seen on models 80, 91, and 100. I have no idea at all why there was a revision to metal; I can only think that the plastic neck was easily broken when used on a floor tool with the weight that this one has, although I've never seen one broken. The fact that your tool has a metal neck makes it impossible to say it's a very early or very late example, as it could legitimately be either, though my money is on it being late, given that I'm sure the instruction book for the earlier versions showed a plastic neck. You are correct in thinking there may have been more to the floor tool, as these tools also had a translucent plastic insert which helped distribute the suction, for a better cleaning experience on loose carpets / rugs. The second point I noticed was that the clip to hold the 2-way dusting brush (located on the top -front of the cleaner, just below the button which releases the bag door) is much larger than on the earlier 90 cleaners, and appears to be riveted in place. The original clip was simply pushed into position, and was a lot smaller than this. Indeed, they were often missing, and when present were frequently broken. Funny how yours is a revised design, when on the model 100 that followed it the dusting tool was to be stored on the back of the suction control on the hose handle.

You've got the right tools for this one! What an awesome Cylinder! This is the vacuum that Margo has in the Good Life, she complains that it won't stop whistling 😂 The bag was full (and that dial at the front was probably turned to its most sensitive setting)

@hoovermaster serial number is year and week... so if its 441 on a 302 then it's the 41st week of 1974 for example 😁👍
