Learn about electrolysis, including what happens during the process, and also keywords such as electrolyte, electrodes, cathode, anode, molten, etc. Learn the half-equations for reactions at the anode and the cathode. Learn what happens when the ionic compound is dissolved in water - what gets produced at the electrodes?

Yes, these videos do cover the new 9-1 higher content. These videos are not specifically for Edexcel, but there is a lot of similarity between Edexcel and other exam boards, so I'm sure you will still benefit from my channel.

I am interested in building a proto type of electrolysis of water for separating oxygen from hydrogen The Electrolysis proto type machine needs to be small. Being large enough to contain a single 6 Volt battery, or a series of 3 batteries and each of them containing 2 volts. The Proto Type Separator of oxygen and hydrogen from each the other, needs to be attachable to swimming goggles and possibly transportation devices. I am E. Ubermensch Barker. Resides in the Republic of Ireland. Can Be reached at the following e-mail Address: eubermenschbrkr@gmail.com

The half-equation can be written either way - both ways are correct.

This is the reason why I am not going to use this for my students. It is not a good idea to teach students using "minus" in an equation. They have to understand the concept of reactants (on the left) and products (on the right).
