Electronic anti-theft faulty Peugeot & Citroen
Electronic engine immobiliser fault
The key contains an electronic chip which has a special code. When the ignition is switched on, this code must be recognised in order for starting to be possible. This electronic engine immobiliser locks the engine management system a few
minutes after the ignition is switched off and prevents starting of the engine by anyone who does not have the key.
In the event of a malfunction, you are informed by lighting of
this warning light, an audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.

The solution for me was to use the second key. The best solution is to make another key with another chip coded on your car.

Thx a lot for the help. I was a about to troubleshoot battery, alternator and starter issues until i looked for this specifik issue. I have a Ctroen Berlingo 2012 e6g. But i have been using the spare key and main key for a bit as the part of the main key only worked. But only recently starter issues occured and i thought it was due to winter conditions. Atleast for now i don't see the error message. Thanks again for the help.

A good solution to use at the emergency, or at least until the new key, is to keep the button to lock the radio control for a few seconds, you'll see that the message disappears and you will can turn on the car.

try holding down the lock button for 3 seconds, when the key is inserted and the dashboard is on, or try holding it down while the dashboard is switched on. It is an emergency and temporary solution. It worked for me. Bye

Sometimes it worked sometimes and sometimes it didn't. I went to several workshops to program and maintain the keys, and they couldn't fix it. Then I fixed the key myself, and the defect was in the welding of the internal parts of the remote.

I put my spare key beside my malfunctioning key. The car started a few times, but no neither key works.

Try the re-initialisation procedure for the remote control, as you would after replacing the battery. Doing this made the error message go away, and the car start.

Hello. Try to fold the key in the closed position and then close it on all sides to the ignition switch, then open the key, put it in the ignition and try to start.

Salut. Schimba-I bateria și vezi dacă mai apare eroarea. De obicei nu mai citeste corect cipul din cheie.

@@AdrianDragan Problema nu cred ca e de la cheie, dau la automat și nu cuplează.. Probabil ca e de la electromotor.. Problema e ca stau la vreo 20 km de oraș și e mai greu sa i fac mașinii un diagnostic.. În rest nici un martor nu se aprinde

După cum spui par a fi simptome de electromotor. Am auzit de cazuri când electromotorul nu era defect dar unul din cablurile de curent de pe acesta era slăbit și nu mai primea curent.

@@AdrianDragan ar fi bine sa fie doar un cablu slăbit. Mașina are 107.000 km Oricum în caz ca nu e de la vreun cablu o sa i iau în prima instanta o pereche de cărbuni /perii noi
