Not able to understand the significance of minus sign. Pls help.
@aarthikmehta94967 ай бұрын
For holes diffusion current density, it would be minus cause dp/dx is the slope of the curve, if you draw a tangent to the curve that sir has drawn then you would find slope to be negative. and charge on a hole is positive so whole expression will become negative. similarly, the slope will remain negative in case of electron diffusion current density also but the charge on electron will be negative so whole expression will become positive.

Sorry Menna, when I made these videos - never thought of this. for whatever videos made recently, and in future - will be making sure, they are in pdf format and provide link in the description.

why when semiconductor is at equilibrium (Jndrift + Jndiff = 0), Fermi Energy is Constant?....or in other words, why when there is no current in the semiconductor Ef is constant with respect to x?...thanks
@thugstatZ7 жыл бұрын
jj because hole and carrier concentrations are the same
@vijaykumarpasupula86767 жыл бұрын
hole and carrier concentrations are same(at particular x) in the junction but Why is the Ef constant every where(not only at junction but also at the extreme sides of diode) in the diode at equilibium?? Because at the extreme side of n-type it is still n-type even after the diode is made, similar case with p-type also.

Why diffusion current does not depend on Electric field ? From units we can infer that is does not depend cm^2/s but I want what happens inside the conductor?
@ManishGupta-de9qf7 жыл бұрын
drift current depends on electric feild
@changerequired78516 ай бұрын
Because it is diffusion current it is caused by change in concentration w.r.t distance it doesn't depend on electric field even if we don't provide any potential we have diffusion current

Sir how P depends on time
@techgurukula5 жыл бұрын
why is time dependency question coming in this video?
@amandeeppandey19015 жыл бұрын
@@techgurukula sir because we are using partial differentiation .... At this point u said that p is sometimes time dependent also

sorry sir it will be negative i mean partial dev. of p w.r.t distance is negative.

Sir,firstly tell that how you got inverse relationship.

When you drop a little bit of milk into a glass of water the concentration of milk/water at the top of the glass is high, but the concentration at the bottom is still very low. So, moving from the top to the bottom (= increasing the value of x) the concentration decreases. There is your inverse relationship between x and n.

sir i watch yr vedio continuously so thanks for making these vedios i have a confusion sir that is how partial derivatve of p(conc. of hole) w.r.t distance is zero .plz sent ans i will be waiting for yr ans .thank u.
@jacobvandijk65254 жыл бұрын
When you drop some milk into a glass of water, then after some time the concentration of milk/water is the same at all points in the glass. So, the concentration at point 0 (= n0) is the same as the concentration at point 1 (= n1). So, dn = n1 minus n0 = 0. Therefore, dn/dx = 0.
