It was the end of the 80's and I was involved in a music production when I was introduced to the group Electronic....after more than 20 years ...finally I can enjoy this band in it's full force and versatility....Thanks to all music search engines and You Tube....Long live the 80's

1996. I was 17 that Summer, on the cusp of 18. And what a time to be that age. The music, the culture, the way the world felt at that time was somehow better back then. I'm sure every generation says this, but I'd love to go back to those days for a week or two and visit.
@sufyanlowel46318 ай бұрын
And how exactly it was better???? What a bu***it. I remember those times perfectly. Now is better. Now I can watch whatever I want without crappy television and listen whatever I want without crappy radio. My own ultimate choice. Without East 17 and Spice Girls on MTV. Full access to almost everything from The Beatles to Lil Nas X at once. Now is much much better.

Another pupil heard me singing and said the song was "boring". I still love this tune and listen to it on sunny days and it takes me back. Great memories.

@@ipiap How is calling this great song a masterpiece that still sounds great degrading to anything?
@ipiap4 ай бұрын
@@Maximixa I did not refer to this particular song, but to the '90's music scene in general which does IMHO represent the peak of pop culture. Songs and videos of this quality used to be released week by week in a constant stream, which was due to the totally different way of production and reception of music. If you write, this particular song stands the test of time, you refer to it as a sort of exception, a surprise. In fact, this is one of the vast number of totally forgotten gems from a largely forgotten era, with 365 K views in 15 years.

Maryanne Dionne I know right. People have to keep in mind that it was Curtis writing most/if not all of joy divisions lyrics and for him to step up as lead vocalist, remain guitarist and become songwriter too for new order. He's an idol to me personally and I couldn't care less what people say about him.
@MJ.717 жыл бұрын
What people also forget or don't know, is that when the decided to form New Order, the reason why Bernie was given the lead singer position. Is because he was the only one who could play an instrument and sing at the same time, so he had some pretty big shoes to fill in all areas.

Nearly 22 yrs old, and it STILL sounds so good.... LYRICS There's not a hope While you're in this kind of mood Too much to drink But not enough to lose You tore me apart Now I've got to suffer I wish I'd been around when you started this Give me a chance I'd show you what I could do You're in a trance And I'm not so fond of you You may be a friend But you're not my relation But you're the only person I ever knew And it's too late to wash my hands We're caught in a trap Set for a man There is a wind That blows in the northern skies Holding me back No matter how hard I try If I had the sense I'd leave here tomorrow I wouldn't even bother to say goodbye But it's too late to wash my hands We're caught in a trap Set for a man Would you lie to me If you thought I was wrong You deserted me When it all went wrong Would you lie to me Would you lie to me Would you lie to me If you thought I was wrong You deserted me When it all went wrong But it's too late to wash my hands We're caught in a trap Set for a man

Guess I'll NEVER get to understand 3 things in this video (since 1996, when it was released‼): the name of the song, the context in the video (a woman performing scientific tests on black people near the turbine of a spacecraft) and the lyrics to the song: "you deserted me when it all went wrong, now it's too late to wash my hands"... How are they related (by ANY means)??? 🤔🤔🤔
@ThatBobGuy8503 жыл бұрын
Leonardo, I don't think the video has anything to do with the song, kind like the video for New Order's "True Faith." Moving on... Although the "official story" of this song is that it's about the relationship between a son and his abusive/estranged father, I'm not sure I buy that. Seems to me that this song should have been a duet - it seems to be a tragic love song about a failed affair between two men ("...caught in a trap, set for a man.") Maybe I'm wrong - hell, maybe we just project our own interpretations into song lyrics. But it does seem to me like it's two guys singing to each other.
