Giovanni Giorgio Moroder is an Italian composer, songwriter, and record producer. Dubbed the "Father of Disco", Moroder is credited with pioneering Italo disco and electronic dance music, and his work with synthesizers heavily influenced several music genres such as new wave, house and techno music. When in Munich in the 1970s, Moroder started his own record label called Oasis Records, which several years later became a subdivision of Casablanca Records. He is the founder of the former Musicland Studios in Munich, a recording studio used by many artists including The Rolling Stones, Electric Light Orchestra, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen and Elton John.[8] He produced singles for Donna Summer during the mid-to-late 1970s disco era, including "Love to Love You Baby", "I Feel Love", "Last Dance", "MacArthur Park", "Hot Stuff", "Bad Girls", "Dim All the Lights", "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)", and "On the Radio". Bread and Circuses A fair comment: I can see both sides here. On one hand, it would be a surreal experience to be in the same room with Giorgio Moroder as his music played. On the other, Moroder really is "miming" as you say. There's no excuse for Moroder not to be playing the synths. Musicians the same age still sing and play guitar and other instruments. Also, a lot of these folks don't know the meaning of "living the moment". Who could stay still with some of this music playing? "So, did you enjoy dancing at the Moroder set?" Answer: "No, I stood still taking pictures the whole time". Anyway, your typical party-goers can't enjoy themselves without getting wacked on some stupid drug, so I doubt they'd give a damn. Honestly, if you can't enjoy the music without drugs, you're listening to the wrong music.
