I liked this - KZbin keeps praising shorts by single artists without realising how expensive they would be to complete. With ~20 people in the credits this is a good 2 minute short from a small team. It also shows how much work is needed to avoid the things that *are* reused being too noticeable - the whole structure of this short is justifying the repetition of the same sequence, but at least we can't immediately tell that it's really only 20s of animation.

Aside from the great technical execution and all the little details and new gags you find on every rewatch, I love how it's been simplified to the most minimal version of the story. The planimetric composition in conjunction with 180 degree rule works so well for this and must have saved lots of time too. The storytelling without spoken dialogue makes it accessible to everyone. Even not showing the dragons just adds to the gag and leaves the challenges of the Freelance obscured from the viewer and the King. So well done and so clever

So, that is why dragons have gone extinct ? Because a French king was so indecisive ? Makes a lot of sense !!!

I must say that I really like the animation style. And the way the author conveyed this freelance aesthetic. When you get a client who doesn't know what he wants and you constantly redo the work without getting a penny. Only if a freelancer can only refuse to work with a client, then this knight is able to fulfill the dream of many. What makes this animation even funnier is the fact that the bro literally committed genocide against the dragons, but the king really thought that he was not in any danger.
