Can imagine you'd need a decent set of qualifications for this particular industry, but other than that; it looks like a really neat place to work! The environmental conditions here are certainly more suited for a healthy workplace.

Most of the equipment is quite old. P&P are really old despite Juki y not a bad brand But nothing compare with Siplace (Siemens) or Panasonic. Lastest equipments from Siplace are able to place more than 100.000 components per hour. Eventhough most of the equipment is old, not all the manufacturers use the last equipment, to name few, Bosch Braga they have siplace equipment 10-15 years old and same in Bosch Madrid. Visteon they use Philips P&P, which changed brand name to Assembleon (which brand name changed) after they join Yamaha P&P under same brand. Currently they split their ways. currently Siplace and Panasonic are the best P&P equipment on the market. Denso use Panasonic as they only use Japanese equipment but Bosch Braga and Madrid lately bought Panasonic P&P. Regarding Oven, Vitronics, nice equipment but not the Best. Vitronics is nice regarding selective soldering equipment. Regarding Oven, BTU with vacum chamber is top of top but also its price around 250.000 - 300.000 €, but vacumm chamber is a must if you are really concern about Void on BGA and thermal pads on which solder should be perfect. Sometimes, due to components in use on the PCB you are not able to increase TAL (Time Above Liquid) to reduce Voids... this is because, TAl is on the peak zone and for some components peak time and temperature are critical. BTU really nice equipment, Rehmm nice one in use in Bosch and many others. Really nice equipment with a really nice price, i mean, its relatively cheaper then the others and maintenance is simple, but ofcourse, they are suitable for most of the products, not for the most special ones. Regarding handling, i dont even recognize the brand of the equipment. YJLINK and Nutek currently are the best. Chimall are cracp, Rommel desapeared long ago, Asys is really nice but heavy and expensive. Most of the equipment use Servos when others not. This is nice for Pitch adjustment and speed, but price is ofcourse different if you are using a simple teeth plate. Print Screen, i dont recognize the brand. currently DEK is the best with Asys. DEK is part of ASM group which own Siplace. Amazing combination. DEK is widely use in Automotion manufacturers. DEK, Asys, and MPM are the most commun equipment. MPM lost alot of customers as they are not on the same level with DEK or asys. Not even Momentum equipment. DEK works really really nice. AOI equipment?... I really trust in that equipment if on the cover is said " YES YES TECH"... its amazing that this company is using that kind of equipment. It is semi automatic and offline! all PCBs should be cheked in line or in a dedicated line if you want to add value to your product. KohYoung is the best on SPI and AOI inline equipments. OMRON is also really really nice for AOI and Inline X-Ray.Also others like Viscom and Ciberoptics are nice equipment but KohYoung is a world wide leader. On Selective soldering equipment, ERSA, amazing, Seho, price is the issue if you compare with ERSA. Vitronics are nice equipment also. Ok that´s all folks jajaja, my apologies regarding my english, as it is not my mother tongue and i didn´t check if everything is written properly jajaja, i hope i made my point clear. Automotive manufacturers have (not all of them) old equipment, but they are selling them as currently is a must to improve time and cost. If somebody reads this, thanks:)

My company uses most of those you've mentioned. For SMT, we have DEK, Koh Young, SiPlace, and Omnimax. For Wave, we have 2 types of wave. Electra Ultrafill and DwellMax. Selective, we have ERSA 50/60 (pretty old though) but we are planning to change because of the 3rd party support being quite bad here. Here it is going to be JUKI. For AOI and 5DX, we use local brands. We used to use Agilent. ANYWAY, I have ONE BIG QUESTION. What is your SMT Placement DPMO and Wave Solder DPMO? Currently, we are achieving ~ 150 and ~400 respectively. I am not sure what is your company's standard. Yet our management is still jumping up and down. Now they are beginning this whole "ZERO DEFECTS" campaign. SECOND QUESTION. I am wondering how is your company organization like? Mine is split to 2 mainly on the shop floor. Operation/Production & Process Engineering. You would think that Engineering would hold the leash but we are basically the dogs to Operations. 3 defects in a row for a work order, there goes an email up to management to be highlighted. Downtime longer than 20 minutes is oh well... you can guess. I am just wondering if this is the type of work culture, especially if you guys are in the Europe or Americas. THANK YOU VERY MUCH and really sorry for these long questions.

So you buy a Maclaren to deliver parcels? It is horse for courses. Most people don't need to load 100,00 components an hour nor do they want to pay for a Siplace or Mydata either

This is laughably the most un professional corporate crap video I've ever seen. It's seriously like a public information film off of the 1970s. I'm surprised it's not shot in monochrome. Over the hill work force no one under 50, out dated machinery, everyone on their best behaviour because someone's filming, and the piece de resistance yep wait for it.... a MOBILE contact number 🤣 no wonder British manufacturing is dying a slow and painful death.

Just because a machine is old doesn't make it useless. They are using this approach to relate to customers that want people who know what they are doing and know how to operate the machines they have. not everyone needs an SMD line that integrates with SAP or uses barcode recognition.
