Hi,
I didn't change the potentiometer value in this video. Please do it yourself to know what will happen in the charging time if you change the potentiometer value.
do not decrease the potentiometer value less than 100 ohms. Since it will destroy the LED

In DC Circuit, the capacitor charges slowly, until the charging voltage of a capacitor is equal to the supply voltage. Also, in this condition the capacitor doesn’t allow the current to pass through it until it gets fully charged. And, when you connect a capacitor across an AC source, it charges and discharges continuously, due to continuous change in the voltage levels
@ElectronicsForUs
@ElectronicsForUs 3 жыл бұрын
When you connect non-polarized capacitor , if you apply AC, positive half cycle will charge the capacitor in that direction, during negative half cycle, capacitor will charge in negative direction. During this cycle , the charge was stored during positive half cycle will discharge as well as negative half cycle will charge in a same same cycle. But this charge cannot be discharged completely because before it gets discharged next cycle will start. This unused energy is being called as reactive power. Due to this slow response only voltage is getting lagged comparing current in capacitor. Non polarized capacitor can charge in either direction.

I have a doubt... I am using LED light, 60v DC this light was flickering, how to solve flickering.
@ElectronicsForUs
@ElectronicsForUs 3 жыл бұрын
LED light means series of LED's. Am I correct? For LED lights, the given current should be constant. We will normally use constant current led driver. If there is any drift in Current then flickering will happen. We have to check whether the current is being constant.

From your explanation I understood the DC capacitors allow DC curreent for a time period only, but in Ac current the Ac capacitor always allow current to pass thoroughout the circuit in all times...if the statements are like this, how can we say the capacitor blocks Ac impulses in Rectifier circuit, to get Pure DC. Kindly explain me this condition??..
@ElectronicsForUs
@ElectronicsForUs 3 жыл бұрын
Listen carefully Capacitors will allow AC freely as in this circuit. But it is unable to allow DC because of it's nature. In a rectifier circuit we will connect the capacitor in parallel right after the bridge rectifier (or any rectifier). Since capacitor has the ability to allow AC and blocking continuos DC,. The allowed AC signal in the pulsating DC will be grounded. But the DC content in this signal can't pass the Capacitors which will go inside the regulator as an input. Watch my video on bridge rectifier and capacitors in this channel.

The uncharged or empty Capacitor is like a short circuit A fully charged capacitor is like an open circuit. The first property will help to reduce or arrest the sudden AC impulse.

@ElectronicsForUs
@ElectronicsForUs 3 жыл бұрын
Polarized capacitors cannot be used with AC. You cannot use for continuous purpose. Here I am switching off light in between that is because it will damage the capacitor with popping. That's why in this video I told to use a silver mica or ceramic capacitors with high voltage tolrence. If you connect polarized capacitor with AC, first it will start to swell then it will blast.
