Not possible to ''prepare'' trx in offline mode, you need the input script and index, you need access to the blockchain... So first you need to prepare online, put txt on a USB stick, then boot offline mode and sign the trx, then boot online to broadcast

Quick question... once I've sent the payment from the online machine to the offline machine, given that the offline machine of by definition unplug from the internet... in which moment will I see the funds?

In this scenario, it looked as though both the offline and the watch only wallets are tied together. So the offline wallet won't reflect the balance until it becomes an online wallet (which goes against the purpose of setting it up this way). However, the watch only wallet should reflect the balance of the wallet, but not be able to spend them without being signed by the offline wallet.

If you are watching this now, check out the difference in the integer of the bitcoin addresses and make sure you have the correct bitcoin. BTC addresses start with bc where as bitcoin used here in this tutorial starts with a 1, please verify this for yourself! Godspeed!

this is a great wat to protect your bitcoins. however in stead of using a usb flash drive i would use a cd-rw. one cd-rw per transaction. these discs are less likely to bne written on. another guy used a serial cable with a one-way-data adapter to transfer the transaction information. interesting.

This is like a hardware wallet. It protect you private key. If some have you private key they can use you bitcoin.

@@traida111 Exactly. Plus you write seed on paper in order only you remember. Plus, pendrive can be encrypted with very long password only you remember. Zero chances somebody stealing BTC from you.

I’ve sent my btc to the Electrum wallet. The only problem is I could see the balance only on the “Watch Only” wallet and not on the one in "offline mode - Tails OS". So, how do I tell the wallet on tails that there’s coins in it? Please advise.

You are offline in that wallet, it will never show you any balance. You can see your balance in your watch only wallet.

You can use a double boot computer with Windows and Linux (eg Ubuntu), use Ubuntu as a low-medium security ecosytsem (Windows is 100% insecure), and then run Tails linux from a USB stick as a high security ecosystem.

You sign the tx with the offline wallet, then take the transaction file in a stick and go to the online "watch only" wallet (the one without private keys). In the online watch only wallet you use the transaction file (the signed transaction file) for accept the transaction without using or exposing your private keys (which were left in the offline wallet)

Because you selected the wrong wallet. Make sure the wallet you used to generate the transaction is the same you use to sign it!

as long as the transaction is saved in the blockchain you don't need to be connected to internet. He writes the transaction in the blockchain through the online computer.

You wrong, that transaction is a piece of encrypted code allocated to your public key, once is generated you can copy that code and export to an offline pc, from there you have to send a confirmation code that you received the bitcoins, that code you paste on a usb stick and copy to online pc which announce blockchain that transaction is complete. Its abit confusing for some, but when you send money you still have control of those money untill the receiver is online or confirming that he received money, in this case to confirm from an offline you have to send manually that code from offline to online, by doing what this guy made in video. Is actually very good tutorial, but kinda bad editing, and not explaiining every step detailed.

You mean you need to be online to broadcast the bitcoin transaction yes, but to sign it no. Easy way to see look at it is your private key(s) sign the transaction for you and they can be left offline to just sign.
