Wan Mai is a character 🤣 It's nice that Mr Pong is willing to be her friend, bless him, but he has the right idea to walk away when she gets too domineering. It's an adorable friendship & another example of different animal species befriending one another. We could learn a thing or two from them, they don't judge! Although if I was Wan Mai, I'd be careful of those horns...🥰🙏❤🐃🐘

Wan Mai is so cheeky, in a nice way, of course, ☺️.I was just looking at her back legs, they are a bit chubby, I guess that's because she's a baby, just like humans😆😆🐘 I think she is going to be a dominant female when she gets older, possibly a matriarch. She is a star 🌟 🐘❤️

She played too rough with Pyi Mai and Chaba, but I think they still see eachother. Khun Tea has also said that she's very protective of her "things" and "people" Lol. So now her best friends are Mr Pong, this buffalo, and Yai Ampon, another buffalo.

She has played with them a lot in the past, but right now isn't the time, as Wan Mai has grown huge, and the babies are still small, so they're not her peers right now. They are too small for her, too easily hurt, and Wan Mai has been too rough in recent months. No worries, they are growing, and in due time, it will work out when they are larger. She still sees them, runs over to greet them, but I believe the staff tries to keep it brief to minimize issues.

In nature, elephant (babies) day goes by finding food and eating, that activity they don't have if there's no growing plants. That's why I always say ENP needs some more wilderness land with vegetation.

I don't think they eat solid food until quite late...I see most of the cakes they make they're either walking on them or playing around and their mamma and nanny eat them (the cakes) up.

@@mittus1934 They do eat solid food from very young, I've been following South Africa elephant orphanage videos, they've got 3 - 4 months olds, and they eat solid food too. Wan Mai I would estimate about 2 years old.

Try watching more of the videos. The herds wander to wild grazing areas and then come back at nice. There is wonderful footage of them coming back down the stream.

@@Aurinkohirvi Yes, Wan Mai is 2, and you're right, they eat solid food as well as nurse, even year-old Chaba eats a few bananas at a snack, though their diet at early ages is mostly mommy's milk. ~ ENP/SEF leases other land along the river (to which David referred, in this thread), that the eles use, and on the mountain, so there are at least 3 other forested areas they use. We only get to see if we watch all the videos. :)

@@davidt3956 I've watched ENP videos (including ELeflix) quite a lot and I know about one forest patch they have. But that's not enough. And I haven't seen Wan Mai's family in there either, all the videos I've seen about them is from this short grass park area.
