Elegant + Intimate Micro Wedding at Toronto Golf Club | Emma + Blake

Don’t you love this dreamy fall Micro Wedding at Toronto Golf Club? Emma and Blake were determined to get married in October, at their chosen venue. But as their date approached, new restrictions were put in place by the Ontario government and we all had to adapt in a short space of time. They, along with their planner, Jasmine from All That Jazz Weddings, quickly scaled back from a larger wedding to something much smaller and Covid friendly.
2020 has seen a lot of pain and adjustment. Both couples and wedding vendors have had to deal with a lot of loss and stress, but weddings like Emma and Blake’s show how smaller weddings can be just as fulfilling. We are big fans of micro weddings (25 guests and below). They're more relaxed, intimate and allow couples to have a more personal experience with their guests who, by definition are their very closest friends and family.
Toronto Golf Club is a place that Emma, Blake and their families have spent much time, so it was the perfect venue for them to celebrate their wedding. They were able to finish getting ready in the bridal suite and library before having their ceremony and cocktails on the lawn. October is a great time of year to get married in Ontario, with moderate temperatures and stunning fall colours. The light is softer and lower, adding more glow and a dreamy aesthetic to pictures and video. We, along with 5ive15ifteen Photography had no trouble finding great spots around the grounds for the portrait session.
Emma and Blake had their reception outside, complete with blankets, heaters and candles. They created a warm and cozy atmosphere, complimented with some amazing food from Toronto Golf Club. The more intimate setting allowed guests to easily mingle, swap seats and chat with each other before focusing on those wonderful speeches. Both Dads really stepped up to the plate, mixing humour, sentiment and good stories. Exactly what we need to create a narrative for a wedding film!
In particular, we were touched by Emma's father's speech, who spoke of the pride that he and his wife had felt of their daughter. As someone who has also lost a mother much to young, and as a father myself, I felt so drawn to his words. When putting together the story line for their wedding film, it felt essential to begin with his speech. It perfectly set the tone for what was to come.
It’s been a difficult year for everyone, but weddings like these can lift us up and give us hope. Emma and Blake had a wedding that focused on the stuff that matters. A romantic and peaceful ceremony, time spent with loved ones and an evening with good food, wine and conversation. Thanks so the persistence of Emma and Blake, the flexibility of their vendors, guests and Toronto Golf Club , it really was a beautiful day. We're sure it was an experience they wouldn’t have changed for the world.
