You could have mounted the shock to the lower link mount at the same time.

Very true, but I do everything in steps for the sake of doing it the stock way vs alternative ways. Definitely would've been possible to do the rear right away, but the front would require removing the behind the axle steering in favor of the more traditional steering link in front in order to clear the shocks.🤙
