Thanks for these deeper dives! It is nice to see videos that go a little past the typical basics!

Not for inductors, but I have built my own low-voltage curve tracer, for measuring characteristics of semiconductors very precisely in the sub-volt region. Diode Vfd, FET Rds vs Vgs, BJT beta. It's primary purpose is detecting the occasional fake components I end up buying from eBay.

On my laptop, the CPU is powered by the VRM, which has a few inductors. In this application, the inductors are shielded and minimizing interference is clearly an engineering challenge. The inductors are not run hard so are not hot. This laptop has some audible "coil whine" which might be be from these inductors buzzing away at work. The nearby mosfets run very hot.

Video Tip: Show the viewer what you got and what you plug in, from a distance this is doubtful. Viewer wants to see what you are doing and what the component looks like.

Don't forget he said 50 ohm coax not 75 ohm you find on a tv.
