Elementary Sherlock and Watson "I'm afraid I'll Loose you." S5E22

I like this episode too. I feel bad about Shinwell though. I know Joan cared for him even though he did somethings unlawful. I like how Sherlock expresses concern for her about Shinwell. Always protecting Watson. They both go to great lengths for each other but don't even consider why. I hope one day they figure it out and we get to see them happy with an equal. I hope you like this. This is a beautiful episode. The only reason sherlock try’s at all is because he wants Watson to stay with him. He doesn’t want to lose her, he loves her too much

Shinwell was a tragic, complex but realistic character. They were honest in his character development. He didn't jive with Sherlock. He used them to get his revenge and redeem himself. Sherlock was right; he wasn't good enough or diligent enough with his studies to avoid detection. I thought it was realistic for him to write his confession out to Joan as it is consistent with her reasons for helping him. She doesn't just help anyone. She saw something in him worth redeeming. I have no idea why Joan kept visiting him at his apartment dressed up like she usually does walking through a bad neighborhood. She would have stuck out like a sore thumb. No way they didn't look into her.
