@@MeanMrMayo According to Julia, John's 1/2 Sister. When Cyn became Pregnant John had a choice to go & so did Cyn. They truly Loved each other at that time. So they chose to get married.. it is also stated in Cyn's Book John Lennon. Julia went on to mention that John's family kept in touch with Cyn till her death in 2015. She was a class act in my book. As years went by John was looking for a stronger "Mother" type of woman & found Yoko. Julia was not surprised at what happened due to John's past history. John's family never had a much of a relationship with Yoko or John after they were in NYC. Before he was assassinated he was trying to reconnect with his family in England.

The lost weekend came to an end when Mother learned, among other things, that John was reconciling with Paul.
@dabreu4 жыл бұрын
@Fred Virtuoso In my view Bob is right. Read Paul's biography when he talks about it. Yoko looked for him asking him to be the "go between". It was her idea. He could not say no. Besides she was not honest because she made Paul think John had left her and she wanted him back. But she was the one who sent John away. He had no plan to play go between at all. Besides it was in march ...what happened then? Not a word from John. But she heard they were in so good terms John was about to record with Paul in 75. John and May returned to New York but John didn't return to Yoko. Only in November, thanks to Elton John, they met after Elton's concert on which John participated. We know that Yoko didn't want him to return home as soon as he was back to New York. He wanted to date for a while first. But things were not like she wanted as May remained there and plans to go to New Orleans were going on. Maybe it was a coincidence, but it quite strange she showed up exactly when he was about to leave to record with Paul saying he could not go because the stars were not aligned. He had to submit to a therapy to stop smoking. She believed in astrology and the likes so he gave up going (OMG) and decided for the therapy far fom May. She could not even have news about him. When it was over he returned only to say he would be back to Yoko. So, it seems that indeed she intervened when she learned John had reconciled with Paul. The message Paul gave to John from Yoko was not the reason John returned. He didn't care about it. Paul can't be blamed for that.
@dabreu4 жыл бұрын
@Fred Virtuoso Well, I have listened to that interview about four times. And I could not listen Paul starting to attempt to take credit for Bob Dylan anywhere. It is true my listening is not very good as my language is Portuguese. But after listened so many times I had to had noticed that. Could you please tell in which point he did it? I am almost sure you got it wrong ...again. About ego...it is almost impossible to find a true artist like Paul that has not a big ego. Most artists has got this problem. But I confess I never noticed it in Paul till the point you saw. Possibly you got it wrong...again.
@dabreu4 жыл бұрын
@Fred Virtuoso Well, I listened to it again and didn't see anything you are talking about. Let me try another time. But something tells the problem is the way you interpret what he said. You also should listen to it again with a more open mind, as it obvious you dislike Paul. I you said you didn't listen to the whole interview! If not, you just can't comment about something you didn't listen to. Besides, I see no problem if he discovered Dylan before the others. Paul discovered lots of things before the others, man. The loops, for instance... See the documentary "The British Underground,Paul McCartney and The Beatles". I am not sure if that is the title, but it is similar. So it is not wrong to say the truth. Paul was the one into avant garde. Then the others got interested too, but it was indeed Paul who brought it to The Beatles. It has no relation to ego. It is the truth. And he disrespected Sean at all. The conversation was very cool indeed, and it was Sean who said he noticed Paul's influence in some of John's compositions. But...let me listen to it for another time. Let me tell you i have read lots of comments about it and so far you are the one one complaining about it....without listening to everything.
@dabreu4 жыл бұрын
@Fred Virtuoso Sorry, Fred, I can't help you. I can only hope you will find help soon. For sure the interview you talk about is not the one I know. I have listened to it again today and...no. There is nothing not even similar to what you said on it. The one I have been listening is the one he gave to Sean recently celebrating John's date when he would be 80. It is a very sweet conversation. It could be deeper but Paul had to answer what Sean asked. I mean, not a word about politics. Sean didn't ask about it. He was interested in know more about how the met each other, how they used to compose together...how was his grand mother Julia...But is really lovely, really adorable. No ego trip anywere. So, it is a new one I never had the chance to listen therefore I can't talk about it. But if he said he was in the edge avant-garde of the band it is more than correct because that is the truth. it was not an attempt to take credit . That's exactly what happened and he already got the credit as I told you before. There is a documentary about it. But let's not forget that Paul never learned anything only for himself. He used to learn and take it the band. And all of them would jump on that. That is why Sgt Pepper's is sheer perfection. Paul had the idea, he talked about it the John, George and Ringo. And all of them said Yeah! Paul never claimed it is only his album. It is the Beatles album. And part if its beauty is exactly in a song John dedicated deeply on it: A Day in a Life. It seems to me you have a serious problem regarding Paul. I am sorry for that. As I said I don't know to help you to solve this problem that is in yourself, not in Paul McCartney. Besides, this is not the right place for that. We are here to appreciate Elena's amazing collection of rare pictures. So, I have to inform I won't talk about it anymore. It woud be a waste of time for sure. I am not an expert. Let's respect the other who are here looking at the pictures and talking about it. I suggest you do the same as they are really interesting. Even Peter Lawford is there. Historical night in Trabador. Calm down, relax and enjoy the pictures. No more answer from me.

From the Los Angeles Times March 14, 1974. Joyce Haber (columnist) Swinging Beatle in Troubadour Melee. Sam Peckinpah, Take Note: On Tuesday the place to be was L.A.'s Troubadour. The bill, unfortunately for them, the Smothers Brothers. I say unfortunately because the major act was in the audience. Ex-Beatle John Lennon who, according to several observers, "was hopped up on something." kept heckling the Smothers and using foul language until he was thrown out. Before that happened, much occurred, Lennon who is estranged from his wife Yoko Ono, was there with his sometime housemate (at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, among other places), young Oriental May Pang, and composer-singer Nilsson. "Lennon was creating so much chaos that no one could stand it," says Santa Monica College student Kevin Breslin, 19 and son of best-selling author Jimmy ("The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight," "World Without End, Amen") Breslin. "Peter Lawford was sitting just behind Lennon," continues Breslin. "Peter told Lennon to shut up or get out. Lawford was with a beautiful girl: If you find out her name, get her number and let me know." Lennon, who kept jeering as the Smothers did their act, once yelled "I'm John Lennon," and four times called the guitarist a four-letter word. Finally the Smothers' manager, Ken Fritz, asked Lennon to stop, John got up and took a swing at Fritz. Fritz swung back. Lennon then picked up a glass and threw it, missing Fritz, but hitting a waitress and overturning a table in the melee. At last, the Troubadour staff got Lennon out. But when a 51 year old Hollywood matron took a photo of the ouster, Lennon reportedly swung at her. As a Rolling Stone magazine reported, he previously shook up the Troubadour by appearing with a Kotex taped to this forehead; he caused a similar holocaust. Says Jack Haley Jr.: "I spent the first two-thirds of the show with my hand over John's mouth. Harry (Nilsson) was the troublemaker. He was quiet but kept egging John on. Lawford got steamed. We all did. I was with Pam Grier (the star of Coffy") and she has a black belt in karate. I didn't know what she'd do. The table fell on us and she broke, very painfully, three nails. They bled. Among the other observers at the opening night fiasco: the Paul (Joanne Woodward) Newmans, Flip Wilson, Helen Reddy, Leonard Nimoy, Linda Lovelace, Don Cornelius (Soul Train), the Cliff (Dina Merrill) Robertsons, Lily Tomlin, Peter Boyle, and City Atty. Burt Pines. What the world needs now, Lennon, in case you've forgotten, is love, love, love. End of the article.

Nonsense. Yoko was what John needed, he was set free by Yoko. He was set free from the Beatles trap he had been in and was looking to escape, not because he hated the other Beatles , far from it but he hated the situation. He had already had a cosy relationship with Cyn, Yoko challenged John continually and opened new artistic areas for him. John was always searching for a 'mother' , his own mother wasnt it sadly, Aunt Mimi wasnt it , the Beatles ,eventually stopped being it, he found it in Yoko. John walking around pissed and without his glasses could not have been a good combination.... I doubt he could see infront of his nose. He was blind as a bat at the best of times.

Peter Lawford in the blue shirt in the thumbnail set up President Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe.
Smothers Brothers were well known lefty's,had the Beatles as guests (Revolution?). What set off Lennon and NilssonSmeilson?

I don't think Harry needed much to set him off!

Lennon was one screwed up nasty chap; not that his sycophants will admit it. Being a great and original song smith, it doesn't follow that Lennon was a pleasant human being. Evidence? Just think how Lennon's first son, Julian was treated by him.

@@elizat.7544 Yeah same. KZbin comments are super judgemental anyway, and 90% of this fandom seems to hate John these days because he doesn't fit the model of the perfect superhero they thought he was - John was just a guy , with a lot of flaws and misfortunes, but he was also funny and loving. Demonizing or saintifying him ain't it.

I can't believe that was 1974?, was that when John Lennon was kicked out of nightclub for Heckling The Smothers brothers, and Drunken? ? How did I remember reading this? I would have only been 11? My mother was Buying the weekly National Enquirer?, I guess?

I'm sure glad nobody had a camera when I got drunk a couple times. I thought about what I said and did and was so embarrassed. I did two things: One, I realized it was the liquor talking, two, I quit getting drunk, and by doing these two things I was able to forgive myself and put it behind me. John, it was the liquor talking, I forgive you, let's forget it ever happened.
