On the evening of December 8, 1980, John Lennon and Yoko Ono stepped out of a limousine by their apartment building. A man pulled out a gun and shot him in cold blood in the vestibule of the building. Police respond to the scene right away. When they saw the amount of blood coming from Lennon's body, they knew they could not wait for an ambulance. They put him in the back of a police car and went directly to the hospital. They also arrested the shooter, Mark David Chapman #InsideEdition

I met John Lennon about 2 months before he was killed. He was in Bermuda and came into my store to have me measure him for a 3 pc suit. We chatted and he was really interesting to talk to. He signed my "MInd Games" album and even explained the graphics. It was so sad when he was shot, he had so much more to give!

My late husband and I were NYC in 2013, and visited Strawberry Fields. As I was taking pictures, I looked up through the trees, and saw a strange-looking building looming over the park, then it hit me that it was the Dakota. The whole experience was surreal. As anyone who's been to NYC knows, it's overwhelming and you just want to see all of the places you've heard about. Seeing where John lived was at the top of the list. I can't imagine what was going through his mind when that psycho did the unthinkable, and John was so kind to him. He would be amazed at how our society has deteriorated in the last 40 years. And, like someone else said, imagine the music he would have written since his passing. We miss you John,😥🌹

They know. He had pretty much bled out and heart had stopped when he arrived. That much time passing without perfusion, the brain and organ damage would be too severe even if you could somehow get them back. CPR doesn’t work if they bleed out. With no blood flow, brain and heart damage starts within a couple minutes. It had probably been 25 or 30+ by the time they got him in the operating room. There’s just nothing you can do.

You applaud her for continuing John’s memory? John's memory is her business. A multi-million dollar business. What else would she do - flip burgers? Obviously John's murder must have been a traumatic experience for her, but at the time of the shooting they were in the process of getting divorced (at her request), and she was having an affair with another man.

Jesus said, "I tell you the truth no one will see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me." For God so loved the world that He give His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the World through Him. For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, and All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. " If you want to be sure of Heaven and avoid the other place below say the following prayer sincerely from your heart." Lord Jesus I repent and am sorry for my sins forgive me. I forgive all who have offended me. Come into my heart and save me. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and baptise me with your Holy Spirit. Fulfill your plan and purpose in my life. "I recommend you read John's Gospel especially chapter 3.Gbu.John 3v3v22,John 14v6.

I always and forever will be a John, Paul, George and Ringo total fan. After the first day of mourning with tv, news from all over the world I went back to work. I made sure I carried my People magazine on my heart for all (if any) to see I was in mourning. So many years later I get to appreciate all the Beatles have given us and keep on and on giving. If on the extremely slim chance that he is ever paroled, he'll never have nor would he deserve to have, any kind of functional life. Far more than that, he would be as good as dead once he got out, anyway; he would have to be confined wherever he could live or whoever would even take him in. There will be so many people out to get him that it would then become fame seekers as to who would be the one that killed Chapman, much like Chapman himself is. And John wasn't the kind of person who would want someone to seek revenge and kill.

Still remember being 14 yrs old, lying in my bed listening to NYC station WPLJ on my clock radio the night of 12/8/80 (like I usually did). Ironically (true story), REO Speedwagon's "Don't Let Him Go" finished playing and the radio went dead silent for at least a minute. I checked the radio to see if it was on, then DJ Jim Kerr came on and said "We just got word - don't know if this is true - I pray to God its not - but we just heard that John Lennon has been shot near Central Park". Being the super Beatles fan even at that age , I yelled "What??? OMG- Oh No". Then went downstairs , told my mom and we watched the story unfold on TV and quickly enough, learned he was gone. Wasn't that stunned by anything till 9/11 happened 20 years later.

I can relate. I was a young girl around the same age and I cried when I heard the news. Just unimaginable. So tragic and sad.

Pains me to know his killer is so close to where I live (maybe 30 mins away) they transferred him from Attica to Wende correctional facility. I hope they never let him out. He doesn’t deserve to be out. He calculated this plan to murder Lennon and did it. The Beatles have been one of the biggest influences in my entire life. And it saddens me I’ll never get to see Lennon or Harrison in concert.

There is no doubt that of Lennon had lived, the Beatles would have reunited. Lennon and McCartney were actually in discussion about getting back in the studio together at the time of Lennon's murder.

I wasn't born when this happened yet I still get emotional at the thought of his death. I'm a big Beatles fan and it was clear that Lennon was a very smart talented funny man. What a tragic ending. He had a hard life and Yoko was finally giving him all he could of wanted. Wish he could of had that longer.

I was in San Diego in Navy bootcamp when the news came. It was a very sad week after that. Many age groups were affected by his murder. I was 18 and the oldest recruits were 36, with many in between in our company.

What a terrible loss it is when a great artist dies young. When Lennon was murdered by that creep, a whole lot of great songs died with him, before they were ever written.
