Is it really that hard to believe that an animal can have artistic abilities like humans can? Just cuz they cant communicate doesn't mean they don't have abilities. dreamwisperer doesn’t understand.. that these precious, amazing harmless animals are going through abuse. It’s just behind the dust of beasts and burdens. This is animal cruelty, and animals can become so devoted, and manipulated from this stuff. Poachers are hunting down animals, and holding them hostage. This guy really doesn’t understand. Making it seem so cool.. that an elephant can paint! Listen, I know and all.. elephants are talented, but they get starved until they do something correctly. They abuse the innocent babies, and force them to pain, and do much more of a variety of tricks, and stuff. They barely get water, nor food. This is completely unacceptable to me, and my feelings. Just because their animals, Doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings. Hear me out... I don’t care if you think this is cool or not, like i said! Animals are very talented, such as elephants! I want everybody to comment on this comment I just wrote, saying.. #StopAnimalCruelty! And actually help me I can’t deal with this! This is so heart breaking... These animals can be genuinely talented and not harmed in any other way, but this is just the case. It can be extremely rare to see an animal not being forced to show its talents. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And even hostile animals are being taken down. And it is still saddening! Animals are going extinct so fast. Some people on earth can be so heartless, cold, and harmful. And are not empathetic towards others, NOR animals! I’m not trying to say all humans are monsters. I’m trying to say.. some people out there don’t care for certain things! But I feel like everything has a heart, and they somehow deserve something good, and loving. Treat animals like family, and how their supposed to be; free roaming, fed daily, no cruelty or harmful actions. We need to actually STOP THIS MESS! we need to stop the cruelty against animals, and against people you despise. Show love, and interest to others, and animals. Don’t hold them hostage.. and force them to do things like these horrible people do to them. Some of the helpers there are even forced, and abused daily. (As human- and it’s not friendly. Some people there are forced to be there, and watch the cruelty appear upon themselves. But sometimes animals get taught this, and don’t go through abuse. My apologies if I made you confused. Hear me out

To all the people that says this is cruel- yea some of them might be tortured or forced to do that but not for years since elephants have a very good memory so they remembers Both the physical pain and emotional pain, as soon as they are shown the "torture thing" they got the signal that this thing has to be done in order to not be hurt. So technically saying its not physically torturing more to emotionally tortured. Plus we can never know for example a trained military dog. U think the dogs are tortured while being trained? They are given treats... And its not like they will be left to starve if they dont do it right u didnot get the point instead they are still feed regularly but is offered treats as bonus snacks (animal instict ofcourse will not reject the offer so they do what the trainer want for their own ego). same to the elephants and researchers showed that the elephant's brain is capable to manipulate many things as well as creavity and way of thinking that affects their behavior and social skill in the wild. Im not saying that i support the elephant painting all other animal attraction shows, its just that u need to understand what is what instead of being ignorant and assume stuffs.
@KevinSalim8 жыл бұрын
Sorry bad grammar lol english is not my first language, i got trouble when it comes to explaining things.
@KevinSalim8 жыл бұрын
Dogs are intelligent too sometimes if the amount of treats are not worth the job they are told to do they will reject it in a particular way signaling the trainers "its not enough, i deserve more". So now its all up to the trainers the good ones will indeed add some more treats (this way of communicating increases the dog and trainer relationship too) but if the trainers are the bad ones who dont wanna waste money for so much animals they have they instead torture them and do the other bad stuffs..
@KevinSalim7 жыл бұрын
+miracle now that makes more sense to me. I didn't know that elephant's trunks are that sensitive as you say, but if that's the case yeah it is certainly unacceptable.
@KevinSalim7 жыл бұрын
+miracle but in the case which you mentioned earlier " men standing beside them with *bull hooks* in their hands" i mean where did you get this? Any reference? Come to think about it don't you think the people would be that dumb to carry bull hooks around their hands showing it to the public? The public could easily figure out that it is used to abuse the elephant.. they could immediately report for animal cruelty and that won't be good for these people. So that can't be the case.
@KevinSalim7 жыл бұрын
+miracle well human's nose is different from an elephant's trunk. It can be more sensitive than ours but they are used to handle and carry around things. Like sticks, small logs, grasses, etc. Handling a paint brush is a piece of cake.

These elephants are not taken from the jungle as some comments say , There are no more Jungles In Thailand. There were many elephants used in logging the jungle before and many elephants were left 'unemployed ' after the logging was finished , due to the fact that elephants live for 60 years or so there were many elephants in Refugee camps until the tourist industry started big time and they were supported by this industry. There is just a few elephants that can paint but many others are capable of other amazing things. Thais love elephants as most westerners love dogs and horses . There is just one tribe in Thailand that really knows how to look after elephants and there are hundreds of them in that area. Elephants have been a part of their culture for hundreds of years , , long before there was any Tourists .. Tourism just started around 1980 ,, Many videos to show other aspects of this. Search Elephants Surin . or Search for more from India and Cambodia .

In daylight, elephants are dichromic; that is, they have two kinds of color-sensors in their retina: one type of cone for reds and another for greens. That means they are "color-blind" when compared to humans, who are trichromic (three kinds of cones: Red, Green, Blue). However, elephants are pretty good at differentiating colors using just two types of cones. They are at NO disability with respect to making sense of their visual world because of their lack of a third color cone.

I saw a documentary where it says the elephant is put through a lot of abuse and force to paint. They beat them whenever they make a mistake. So i can't say this is pretty ause this animal went through abuse to be used for entertainment and money.

The man doesn't seem to be guiding it's trunk but merely changes the colors for it. It must have taken forever to train it to do that!

+Talia show yea some of them might be tortured or forced to do that but not for years since elephants have a very good memory so they remembers Both the physical pain and emotional pain, as soon as they are shown the "torture thing" they got the signal that this thing has to be done in order to not be hurt.

Honestly this should be more than enough to prove that elephants are near if not within the same realm of intelligence humans have. Sure, with a technological development no different from a human before the agricultural revolution (and probably would’ve developed spears if they weren’t so big or had big as heck tusks) but you can certainly see what Suda is capturing in their art, they certainly understand abstract forms and give them a meaning (this lines are the stems/trunk, this green splashes are leaves, and so on). It’s too “human” that it feels wrong to have them in zoos (even in the best of them as ambassadors to their species).

With lots of training and lots of use of a cattle prod then you can get many inteligent animals to paint like that as long as they can hold a paint brush it's wired in their brains that if they make the wrong move then they will get electrocuted as punishment 🤣 It's just muscle memory a regular elephant would just paint random things that doesn't make sense or try to eat the paint brush thinking that it is food

Will you also be torturing and beating yourself to complete the project? Because that's what people in Thailand do to these elephants to produce this result.
