For years Wonky Tusk's elephant family has been walking through the reception of Mfuwe Safari Lodge to get to a mango tree that was there long before the lodge...

Just read this in FB and searched here. This story makes you feel good because of the trust& respect of Mfuwe Lodge and the elephant family.

That's wonderful having these Elephant friendly crossings, fenced off delicate areas, food/water stop offs.

It is, yet South Luangwa National Park is as wild as it gets Duane, no human interference that I remember. My favourite park in Southern Africa I think, and I've been lucky to see almost all of them.

Thanks for the comment. Humanity has indeed destroyed much of this planet. You possibly misunderstood what is happening in this piece though. This is actually an example of humanity and elephants existing in complete harmony.

This is why we need the death penalty, bad-humans need to be culled out of society, more room made for nature

Isn't that perfect coexistence - the way God designed us - if we respect earth's biodiversity, everything should co-exist.

Thy people at the lodge know what they're doing. It's very difficult to keep that delicate balance between tourism and the wild animals. Along as people understand where they are and what things are not supposed to do and also keep their distance they will not have an incident

I’m so so glad the elephant family did set their foot down...who do freaking humans think they are by building a lodge, knowing it would be right in the middle of this family of elephants’ traditional path, with absolutely NO REGARD for these noble creatures?!?!... these dumb and abusive humans better be thankful these peaceful souls behave in such civilized and mature manner so contrary to the rude, insulting and vulgar human behavior which disregards and disrespects everything and everyone but their own wants and wishes...damn, this world would be a true paradise if this kind of good for nothing people would suddenly disappeared for good!!...too bad it’s just a dream, but I believe it would be worth thinking about the possibility of turning the dream into a reality...:)

Bruh, calm down. The people built the lodge without knowing that elephants came that way. And if the elephants got “rude”, theyd be killed immediately. Animals cannot defeat humans.

@@AfricanStorybook - After she passed did the rest of the herd continue to go through the hotel to get to the mango tree? - Edit: I posted that before seeing the end of the video. I see that they still visit, or at least did as of Dec 2015 when the video was posted.

yes they do...Ive seen them...nothing's changed...the 'migrations' (in this case to the mango tree!) and habits set down across generations continue. Until the tree is no more...

@@mrs.schmenkman2858 It's a natural system...the tree will be there a looong time :) My name is Angus - if you need info on travel in Africa, or itineraries designed. www.angusbegg.com I'm currently leaving Gorongosa Nat Park in Mozambique. A phenomenal story of reconstruction after a long civil war...driven by Idaho philanthropist Greg Carr....i produced a doccie on it (it's on my page) in 2007...what he has done, is doing, is nothing short of remarkable. Transforming lives, creating careers, assisting government with health, and rewilding a massive landscape.
