Overwhelmed by the release of ALL OF THE FIRST CHAPTER OF DISNEY LORCANA this week?! Well, the Forbidden Mountain has you covered with what we deem "deck building Packages." I think Steel is the best ink out of the gate for actual gameplay. As you said, it literally combines with every other ink so easily. My favorite support package is Lefou, Fan the Flames, and Shield of Virtue to reuse/protect key characters that have already quested or can exert for effects like the Queen or Elsa - drawing extra cards just to move through your deck or making other characters vulnerable more easily!! So, Ruby-Amethyst is my favorite initial pairing. Favorite flavor: Amber/Steel Three Musketeers and bodyguard! Using Lantern and Just in Time to cheat out Moana then quest for 3 and deploy bodyguards every turn after. Finally, for an all common and uncommon build, it’s Sapphire-Ruby ramp (12 easy to use ramp cards) with Evasive and Dragonfire to eek out advantages. Keep up the great work!

I'm digging the Ramp package myself. I think Gramma Tala and Belle are just outstanding cards, and putting large characters into play before my opponent is really satisfying. =)

Gramma Tala has the problem of being a rather slow form of ramp, even compared to the others since she needs a turn to get over the summoning sickness in addition to the ramp coming into play tapped. She is also a bit dependent on your opponent since she doesn't give you the ramp unless they attack her/she has something to crash into. One might say that because she can be inked it doesn't matter as much, but the thing is getting bigger plays early is the only reason to ramp in this game in the first place (since hitting land drops/color fixing isn't a thing here) so not being able to ramp with her consistently is a notable downside. That said, having a body to attack with early is a meaningful positive in some matchups so it kinda evens out. Also Ramp = Card Draw is only even kinda true for Mickey. All of the others are card neutral at best and honestly Mickey barely counts since Mickey's body is the advantage you gain (and Mickey is an Olaf, not exactly great).

The Lore Contol package could be interesting. Irritating your opponents has a certain appeal to it. 😁 But tinkering with the items could be fun too. Hell I just want to try it all.

I'm surprised Stitch+low costs swarm/Mickey+Brooms didn't get mentioned. Both are likely to be big on release as effective or not they will be obvious builds. I have to think Stitch will be bigger in Amber than Healing Princesses or Ariel Songs for example. Heck I'd consider it one of the three core pillars of the initial meta. Meanwhile Mickey+Broom is a very small but clean package in one of if not the biggest initial colors.

Their are many. No doubt. We felt these were more impactful and a better place to start with. Those combos will be around and have a place I’m sure as well.

Oh it’s still very good, potentially the best ink, but I wouldn’t play any mono ink when you can pick up a small package from another ink to make up for some deficiencies

Obvious the #TeamAmethyst card draw package is the best, but second to that I actually really like the sapphire ramp package. It may be recency bias, we’ll see how it actually plays out ;)

I honestly think the deck will perform better without those cards. While yes there I synergy with them. The deck also doesn’t really need em and find other ways to draw card etc. (in my Budget version, they likely would be there)

We’re genuinely unsure of how good that will be in the game. After we have access to it in the coming days on Pixel born will be putting all of these to test and the ones we missed out on.

"Frozen package will be expensive" No it won't. Frozens sheer presence in this first set, which still annoys me, means that on average EVERY SINGLE PACK should have at least 1-2 frozen cards. Granted thosell typically be in the common spot but still.

The Elsa spirit of winter is likely to be the most costly card in the game. so out of the door (specifically for the next 4-6 weeks) it may be a good 400-600 on just 4 copies of her. so not entirely inviting to the more casual players is my guess.

@@animo358 for the first 4-6 weeks 100-150 in All honestly. If there isn’t enough pure sealed product open in the form of “Cases” the secondary market price is going to be truly irregular. And with her being one of the more playable cards a franchise star. I think will see her value at the top end potentially.

I think it’s very separate from magic. They each have their ups and downs. And given time this can succeed. Nothing can ever be “magic” but this can certainly be Lorcana and become known and held to a high regard. The rules look similar at a glance but are quite different when played. I suggest giving it a shot before ya simply shoot it down. Always possible you find a new game you can enjoy.
