Coach, I think you missed the bit about Townsperson B at the start of the episode - Yachi (the new manager) says that she's never done anything special, and that even in the school plays she was always just "Townsperson B," meaning she was just an extra, and "unimportant" compared to the main roles. So later when Hinata says he was also Townsperson B in one of the plays, that helps her feel inspired to try because she was already inspired by Hinata's passion for playing. "Townsperson B can fight too" means that she's learning to be confident in herself and try for the things she wants.
@kayttajaxxau49653 жыл бұрын
With townsperson B she’s talking about being a side character (townsperson B is a usual side character in many school plays) instead of a main character. Townsperson B most of the times doesn’t really have a purpose in the play and is just there to fill up space, and Yachi felt this lack of meaning at the beginning of the episode
@y-tuc51403 жыл бұрын
The scene starts at 07:23 where she starts talking about why she joined. The exact scene is at 07:30 I guess where she says she played Townsperson B in drama club. Coach talked and missed this part. Unfortunately it was reffered to all over the episode. Felt bad for him since he is normally observing every detail in the anime. And the moment he realized her name is yachi and not Yuri-chan was hilarious aswell hahahaha

Wich is even more interesting in her case. Because she could also be seen as such ( townperson B ) by us when she was introduced. Even coach admitted that he thought she wouldn't be much more than an annoying side character. There is a more profound meaning of this short story, beyond the first layer of comprehension.

Yachi’s mom is a single working mom. She’s trying to raise her to be strong and independent, because she experienced a lot of hardships in the corporate workplace. Unfortunately, the tough love approach caused Yachi to lack confidence. I like how even minor characters like Yachi's mom are complex enough to feel real. We actually learn/guess quite a few things about her and the relationship she shares with her daughter in this single episode. Apparently, despite some confidence issues of her own in her youth she's now successful at her job, even endorsing responsabilities for other employees of her design company. She uses a proud and confident facade in her everyday life which transpires in her private life. She's also a single mother and need to juggle between work and private life. She cares a lot about Yachi but don't always know how share her thought with her. They still seem to have quite a good relationship although imperfect, kind of like a normal family in real life. ^^

Townsperson B is like the nameless background character representation in plays , you just see them in the background of the lead characters often in their shadows. But here, like coach said about animating multiple people even in the background , these "townspersonB" adds depth to the main characters as they help the leads stand out more. So, Yachi as a insecure and anxious person that "never tried to do something on her own or had someone need her for anything" always see herself as a Townsperson B, the figurant of her own life. Yachi mentions early on in the episode that she played the background role of 'Townsperson B' in a play once (which is a reflection of how she feels in general - like a background character). In regards to Yachi's mom, I think it can be referred as 'tough love' where I also experienced during my childhood. Yachi's mom doesn't show much affection and instead want her daughter to by strong enough that can stand by herself without seeking other's approval or pleasing others. Since Yachi's mom is the owner of a design firm, her personality can be seen as strong and tough one which can translate on how she raise or wants her daughter to be. But yeah I agree to what Coach Donny mentioned about this parenting style. Since I can relate to Yachi and her mom's relationship, yes, it can make a child feel worthless and not confident in anything.

I'm glad your reactions aren't the typical "LET'S GOO!" kind, it's easy to tell reactions are genuine and make the videos that much more enjoyable

Just a note on Yachi's mom, I may be wrong about this but I saw her as a single parent who works hard and love her child but though all the hardship of being a single parent she lost a lot of bonding time with Yachi so when she try to give at Yachi advise it's like she would to a coworker. then when it's point out to her she doubles down on the she only said that because she wants Yachi to be strong, so when Yachi yells that she going to be the manger she dasn't only feel pride of her but happy that she may have a chance to bond with her with out being cold to her, like in the moment were she tell Yachi the poster would get her to look at it and then instead of doing it for her she gives advice while spending time with her. I got this impression from watching a friend who seem cold with his child but turns into a sad dotting mess when the kids not in site and always ask what he could do with kid who kind of a mini him so not like Yachi.

I'm really piss that some people still think that Asian don't experience racism, I mean HELLO ?! And this is not just in the US but in Europe too. As an Asian woman, I got some of these treatments as well when I was in France but not that violent, just some outdated mockeries but I got it like an everyday routine... And that was in 2013-2015. But the way, your reaction isn't boring at all ! I do enjoy your clip. I love when you share your own experiences and you look enjoy when you share them. That's why I waiting for your reaction !

Yachi and her Mom's relationship is one of my favorite things. I hated her Mom too, after the first time I saw her, but within one episode, I came to see her point of view, witnessed her character grow and change, and was pleased at how their relationship grew.

Coach Donny, your work always has multiple elements in it. There is guidance about the sport volleyball, there is a mature opinion about life outside of volleyball, and there is a very frank reflection on you yourself as a person. With today's review, we get to see you continue doing what you love doing most, teaching; while there is a lot on your mind regarding the current events of violence. Thank you for the video, thank you for always giving ample priorities to just everything out there. Hope this makes you smile more: Donny Sensei gives just the right gravity to your name than Coach Donny. :) More power to spreading love and learning.

They talk about Townsperson B in the context of a school play. Yachi didn't play an important chaaracter who has a name, just a side character named "Townsperson B". And she feels like that throughout her life in general, because she doesn't have any strong passions and doesn't feel good enough to be a main character.
@alex222333ful3 жыл бұрын
Hinata told her that Townsperson B has it's own kind of awsomeness and Yachi embraces her more supportive role and is actually pretty good at it

That Marouf video was really cool; I know you have a packed schedule churning out awesome videos already, but in the future it would be neat to see more of that sort of analysis video, breaking down top-level play and putting some of your favorite professional players in the spotlight. Thanks, Coach, as always, for these wonderful reviews :)

A little explanation on Townsperson B: Yachi is talking about school plays and the Townsperson B doesn't have much, if any, lines and are just there. Yachi is shown to have extreme anxiety and it probably made her feel insecure

Thank you for the intro as this is an exhausting time for us. There is a huge call out of this rising anti-asian violence and hate in twitter bc German radio dj was hurling racially charges insults to BTS unprovoked over a cover on air and their fans are not happy AT ALL, they've been trending hashtags for three days now, to not only call out this racist german radio dj bt also rise awareness to the serious increase of attacks targeting Asians, many non BTS fans are speaking alongside them. Even many international medias, big name artists, musicians and other public figures are talking about it. It's sad that it takes big fandom to start this huge call out but I'm grateful to them, I hope this start something that bring justice to Asians across the globe who have to face racism
