What problems are you having with your elevator pitch?

I don't even know what makes me unique D:
@homeat304 жыл бұрын
@@karchengg Try thinking of things that people ask about when you meet/see them. What do you care about? What makes you tick? If you're not comfortable talking about things you're good at, I find that it's easier to talk about things you enjoy. As always - remember that you're selling yourself!

Hi, thanks a lot for this very helpful video! I'm a university student with no professional experience whatsoever, how do I convince the recruiter to choose me? Thank you in advance!
@homeat305 жыл бұрын
Hey Miko! Companies want people who are smart and hard-working with strong communication skills (written and oral) who will deliver results. The best way to show them that you're a great hire is to get some experience. I'd suggest getting an internship or even taking a leadership role in an organization on campus. This way, you can demonstrate your abilities outside the classroom and help them feel more confident in you as a candidate.

Very helpful video sir great thankyou I need a simple description about *Call to action* ???
@homeat302 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The call to action is where you get to the next step in the process. You're trying to get the person you're speaking with to do something on your behalf (give you their card, set up another time to chat, put you in touch with their HR/interviewing team, etc).

I'm a science student with no work experience. I want to apply for an internship, where probably communication or leadership skills are not that important. What other facts should I include in the pitch to gain the listener's(head of the department) attention?
@homeat304 жыл бұрын
Great! In your case, I'd highlight things in science that interest you (preferably things that are relevant to the internship) or interesting projects you've worked on. Give the head of the department an inside look at how your mind works. Communicate your excitement to learn more and show your passion for the field of science. If you can do these things, you'll find a great internship.

I have business cards for my side business can I use that on the fly instead of getting a specific card for career situations?
@homeat303 жыл бұрын
It's probably OK to use as long as it doesn't throw off your brand image too much. For example, if you're trying to be an accountant and your side business is plumbing, I'd go ahead and order some new business cards.

I’m not sure how to put all the stuff I did lol like I volunteered and intern a lot idk how to condense it
@homeat303 жыл бұрын
In your case, just pick the roles you think are most impactful and relevant to the job you're trying to get. You can even use a quick line like "I've volunteered for 15 non-profit organizations, and the role that got me most excited was XYZ". I think internships carry more weight than volunteering though, so be strategic.

I am a graduate student studying computer science. I am interested in software engineering positions and have 2 internships under my belt. Please could you guide me in creating a pitch? Thanks a lot :D
@homeat304 жыл бұрын
Wow! With two internships, you should be able to make a great pitch. If you follow the general guidelines, here's what I'd recommend: - Identify a specific job you want to land - Look back at your internships and write down the experiences/skills that best match the job you want - Use those skills/experiences as the main selling points of your elevator pitch It's very important to be specific in what job you want and what you've done to prepare yourself for it. You don't need to have all the answers right away - employers know your experience will be limited. Just remember to show some personality/excitement and smile!
