The coolest attraction of the Victor Emmanuel II Monument in Rome, also known as the Mole del Vittoriano or simply Vittoriano, is without a doubt the glass elevator to the top, named "Rome from the Sky". The top of the monument gives you one of the best views of Rome that you can get in the city. You'll overlook the Forum, which you can see from a bird's eye view, and you can also overlook much of the surrounding area. And if you're one of those people who doesn't like the Vittoriano itself, you're in luck - it won't be in any of your photos. The elevator ride up to the Quadriga Terrace as it is called is not cheap at €7, and you have to climb some steps to even get to the level where the elevator starts. But the view is spectacular, and since it's still relatively newly opened, word hasn't gotten out yet - you might even get lucky and not have to fight your way through crowds once you're up there.
