It's just a comedy skit but Keaton flawlessly depicts how I am when it comes to publicly interacting with people. No exaggeration whatsoever. The awkwardness, instantly becoming overwhelmed for no reason, panicking over doing the simplest of tasks, hyperventilating... If you ever wonder what social anxiety is like just watch this sketch.

Its easy to overcome that ... but takes practice. Each time you go to a store, or anywhere in public, think of one question or comment to say or to ask. Usually, once you have 'an opener' the other person will carry the conversation ... if not, then you shake it off. The more you do the 'one question/comment', the easier it is to get to 2 or 3. Exp: "Is that an Apple Watch? Always wondered ... what does it do?" or, "That's a nice sweater. Mind if I ask what brand it is?' If you talk to one person each day like this ... its like melting ice. A couple months and you'll be looking for people to talk to. Life is too short to be so intimidated. 99% of the time, you'll never see these people again, so what does it matter?

I liked that they used to have skits just based on social situations and conditions almost making an observation like a short story. The first part of the skit was funny, but then they just ran the whole awkward thing into the ground. But I like that they did that. Some people are socially challenged and awkward. It’s part of the human condition. Some people are like this when they’re young and then escape. Others never do. Again, like these type of pieces. Keaton is a great actor.

It's unfathomable to me that you can't see them looking at the cards... But I'll help you out a bit. Often times they're not truly making eye contact with one another, they're looking over each other's shoulders at the cards. Besides, it's not difficult to do some research about SNL. They've been using cards since day 1 for every single sketch.

Throughout their whole run, they’ve had some actors who are really good at looking more natural. It might be that the best ones from older seasons are posted instead of most of them from the current season. But, you’re right-on some of these older ones, the acting’s so good you get caught up in the sketch and don’t even notice them reading their lines!

It's hard to believe that "Elevator man" was an actual job. It was so unnecessary because able-bodied people don't need someone to press the elevator buttons for them. It's like how at gas stations many years ago the guy working in the store would also pump the gas for the driver, check the car's engine oil and clean the windows. Things went from full service to self-service as time went which spelled the end for unecessary courtesy jobs.
