ElfLand Volume 2: The Troll Caves DOS version, DOSBox version 0.74-3 on auto (3000) cycles. I like to leave DOSBox at its "default" cycles when reasonable and this game runs adequately, only slowing down a little at times.
"Normal" refers to the difficulty, with the other options being "Easy" and "Very Easy". The other difficulties would be faster for multiple reasons, but I chose Normal for an appropriately-challenging run. You can also select between "Elfie" and "Elfita" but to my knowledge this only changes appearance and the name used in textboxes when referring to the player.
Start time is the first frame of gameplay after the difficulty selection disappears; end time is the first frame of the "The Grand Elf has teleported you" textbox. Original video date: 2024/04/04
This run also uses sound only functional with the correct CT-VOICE.DRV file not available with the game (there may be such a file but it's probably the wrong version): searching around should yield a set of these drivers, and any of the 1.X versions can be placed into the game directory.
The non-shareware half of ElfLand. This one's has way more enemies to deal with but way more ammo to work with, so it's a more interesting run to swap types around: green to one-shot trolls, homing for targets above or below, bigshot for the troll king, and regular for the rest. The big bird is (probably) indestructible and one-hits the player, which is why all that extra time spent moving it away from the quest-mandated egg. The noisy tiles will wake up the upside-down bats, which is more or less fatal in the big area (and would slow down the game a LOT even if it didn't). There are some minor screwups in a few places, but it's a pretty good run considering how easy it is to lose health to a few stray enemies.
