Elgato Facecam vs. Razer Kiyo Pro - Honest Review

I love that you answer the question right away then go into more detail. Wish more videos did that! Right now the Kiyo Pro is $70 and Facecam is $120. I'm going with the Kiyo Pro based off yours and others recommendations!

Thanks for the video. I really like elgatos software for streaming but the image quality of the kiyo pro ultra got me wanting it more.

Thank you! I need to grab the Kiyo Pro Ultra and give it a solid run through. I’m sure if I spent more time with the Elgato Facecam and learned it, I could rock with it. Just felt so natural when I got my Kiyo Pro and I was able to jump right in with native settings. I use a LUT now and adjusted some settings, but even out of box it was dreamy.

After all the changes to settings for a long time now I just can't seem to get the elgato to not stutter or freeze during streaming. I'm gonna try the razor out.

The Facecam seems to use a lot more processing power compared to the Razer. I had the same issue you did.

I can't find a webcam that looks better than my ancient Canon Rebel T3i. I've been trying but this thing is a beast. However, I'm not a high end KZbinr, and my streams are crap. Like 3-4 people per stream lol. I might put away my DSLR, and just grab a Razer, because it's smaller, and I don't go full screen on my webcam, so the few people who watch me, likely won't even notice.

You use a T3i?! I’ve been looking to see what that would look like for a stream/content creation, and can’t find anything. I have an old t3i I wanna use, but I don’t have the lens or charger anymore. Would you recommend this for someone just about to start uploading? My current webcam is the Elgato Facecam Mk 2, but I can return it and get something else since it’s under 14 days! Gonna check out your channel. 🤙

I've got the kiyo Pro, great face cam and it is very customisable. I am amazed by the low light abilities the camera has, I also run it at 60fps. I've been looking at the elgato face cam but I think I'm good I already have the better camera. You want better functionality on the settings and not have to keep fiddling with things.

You’re so right. It does really well for lowlight. The functionality is what sold me on the Kiyo Pro. I think I’ll give the Facecam another chance and a more fair review when I have some extra money for it.

If you do, try the Mk2. It seems much much better than the older one.

Looks nice but keeps locking up keeps freezing for a couple seconds every so often. It's going back. MANY people have reported this problem and have failed to solve it.

I'm still thinking which one to buy, but the sharp image and crisp motion of the Elgato Facecam feels more appealing to me. (And you really should have shown us more and better comparison shots! Now it's unclear what this video is even supposed to be about.)

I definitely could have been more detailed. It was more of an initial reaction type of vid. Seems like that was at least pretty clear. Facecam is a great camera. I just don't like that it doesn't do as well in low-lighting scenarios, but I also found the UI to be be user-friendly. You're starting to convince me to give it another try. Maybe when I get some extra cash I'll do a better video. Thanks for the feedback. I love the "Hey this is great" stuff, but I also need people who are willing to say "Hey this could be better and here's how."
