Elgon Race 2023 organised by Joshua Cheptegei

I filmed the half marathon Elgon race in Mbale, Uganda on 28th October 2023. This was a race organised by Joshua Cheptegei (triple world champion 10,000m), with his development foundation and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for climate action. It featured elite athletes from Kapchorwa and Bukwo.

*was initially given women’s finish time of 1:14:27 but my camera footage suggested a quicker finish - between 1:13:30 to 1:14:00. Hopefully there will be better race tech for future races

Thanks to great Cheptegei for having extending hand spirit. Most Ugandans after achieving such greatness & money is ment for self. ( my wife, my children, my car, my stomach etc.)Hon. MPs organise such with a selfish zealous target. Kapchworwa should be made a capital city of Uganda not considering structures.

Good question. Race was 800m longer than it should have been - so equates to 61 high. Also a hilly race - 200m elevation gain.
