I did a previous video about the athlete diet in Kapchorwa, where I had one of the coaches speak on the topic. This is the link, if you've not already seen it • What do Elite Ugandan ...
I've learnt more on the topic having spent more time here and share 6 insights in this video. Some of these will provide benefits, others won't. I provide some pros and cons for some of them.

Great video, there's a guy on KZbin El Coyote Loco he trains 190 miles a week up mountains everyday wearing racing spikes he run a 13 minute 5K and 5 min miles for marathon he says if you wanna run fast you need to eat carbs not fat/protein. He keeps fat and protein very low and will eat a lot of fruit such as 5kg of watermelon after a 20 mile run, maybe 50 figs or a 20 bananana smoothie. I followed his advice and it worked so well I was also able to run 160 miles a week doing it and got some PBs

Hey Alvin. I love your short weekly videos Can you make a video more about how these atlethes taper exactly? And where do they run races mostly in Ugunda itself or also in Europe etc (from amateurs to elites like Joshua Chep.)

Do the athletes drink soda? I saw in one of the clips a Coca Cola so I was curious if they drink those.
@alvinkarangizi
@alvinkarangizi 4 ай бұрын
Yes most do and the soda here has more sugar than in higher income counties. Like Mexican coke if you live in the states. Not sure about the top athletes - I’ll ask and update you.

Yes of course, make sure to leave a bit of a gap so you don’t get stomach trouble. I think kipchoge said he ate oatmeal before Berlin this year

Hi Alvin, meat increases inflammation in the body. try to eat meat daily and train every day and then try the same without meet, you will feel much less soreness in your muscles without meat.

Check out omega 3 VS omega 6 fats. Meat is omega 6 focussed and fish is omega 3 etc. Omega-3s contain anti-inflammatory properties which aid in muscle recovery and injury prevention. Omega 6 does the reverse. But this is just really short explained. Google it for more info ;)
