Holden I agree completely people absolutely hate this movie and I don't understand why. I could understand not liking if its not your kind of movie but I have actually been called psycho just for liking it. People are ridiculously uptight about this film

It's because people write it off as a mindless torture porn flick, without realizing that there is a surprising amount of thought that went into it. The entire concept is well hidden until the end, and the way it is revealed is absolutely brilliant. The characters are surprisingly well-developed too. I might not put it into my top 10, but it's definitely sitting comfortably in my top 20.
@hanburgundy4317
@hanburgundy4317 6 жыл бұрын
The movie spends too much time showing the torture. Just don't linger on that nasty shit and people would be totally on board. A little gore goes a long way. Take Bone Tomahawk: the scalping scene only lasted like thirty seconds, but it was intense as hell - we didn't need that scene over and over again. Hostel is just nasty, so I see why people hate it.

I liked it at first but what kind of makes me not like it anymore is knowing how he came up with the idea believe it or not he watched a real site supposedly that inspired him so if you watched a real site like that on the internet that would be illegal makes me wonder why he's not in jail unless it was a pop-up that's the only way I could see and he just accidentally if it was that I could understand but most likely did he just randomly search the pound me because if he did that kind of sick stop the film that I would necessarily hate how he came up with the idea because that would have suggested illegal activity

I agree with him. If anyone noticed, he says, "No matter what you record, or how brutal the movie is, it will never match to what is happening in the world." We are very insensitive to what is happening before our eyes. The military is killing thousands of innocent people, and no one responds to it. "Chimpanzees govern the country" I discovered it quite early. But living so long in such a society got used to it. Ps. Ebola did not spread out of nothing ....

Hostel 1 is a great film, story and writing was really good but the character depth could have been more solid. Hostel 2 is just bad, yeah it has some good scenes and dialougue in it but I hate the pointless characters and the Bloodhound elite bullshit orginization. It was more compelling of a story when you hardly knew of this club.And there really wasnt any characters I rooted for... the first at least had the Paxton character who turned into a badass and hero but they FUCKING KILL HIM IN THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND!!! -_- SMFH... and well for the third direct to video one... just a low budget cash grab

People will get more offended at movies, at directors but never at things that actually happen. People scream at the director of Human Centipede when they're are people hurting their children, people being trafficked in and out of countries used for all sorts of reasons. Suppose its easier to be offended at something that doesn't matter or has no real world consequence, well not a substantial consequence. People are such cowards, some real fucking evil bastards in the world, but nah lets put that to the back of our minds, its to mind damaging to look into, leave it to the authorities etc etc they are human too and must take a toll. Suppose virtue signalling at violent movies is easier then to face real acts of atrocities and just to blame violent movies - ignoring that people have been doing evil things for aeons, cruelty has always existed and some people just revel in it. Just my two cents, not that anybody cares,

I definitley would want to do a low budget film. I hate being restrained from my ideas. I think in the end, the ratings board would bother me the most if I were a director making a totally grotesque horror film. If the director of the Jackass movies can have Steve-o being showered in shit and Pontias wagging his dick at the camera, which is filmed via Paramount, amongst other films with full nudity, gore, whatever, then a small, low budget slasher should have no problem with sensorship.

Why would I be expecting that? What mean is that I find the characters in his films to be very unlikeable and hate-filled, and his attempts and comic relief don't work either. It's not scary, or funny, it's just painful. And by painful, I mean insulting. Now, I don't mind if it's really amounting to something, such as symbolism or a deeper or philosophical metaphor, but in his films, they just amount to nothing.

Honestly, if you would of left these comments a year or two ago, I would have argued hell down with ya! But, so many whiny lil pussies have left comments saying pretty much the same thing that I am seriously getting tired of repeating myself. So I'll leave this one to my fellow Eli Roth fans. They already have a good start because one of your comments already has too many negative votes.

You want somebody to get murdered because of the type of films they make and enjoy! And your calling him a snuff loving piece of shit! Your obviously the snuff fan if you hope someone gets murdered. Come on, he's just a goddamn director dude! Well guys it looks like we have another pussy leaving stupid comments because they watched Hostel and got scared and wet the bed! Poor baby, are you scared of those big bad Hostel movies!

the second part was ok but the first one will become a classic so the rest of sequels won't be able to overcome this masterpiece of horror films!

@@adolfoalbornoz3730 agreed! 1 was great, the 2nd okay, however, the 3rd one felt like a dark twisted comedy and was absolutely terrible, all for the wrong reasons

@@ZFG__Gaming yeah, the third part to me it wasn't hostel because it lost its essence considering that it wasn't written and directed by its creator Eli Roth, definitely it was a piece of shit. however it entretained me

At least I don't parade myself like a total douchebag of a grin like the kind I've seen him give. And I don't try to sweet-talk my way when I've offended an entire country with no rhyme or reason.

I've seen Cabin Fever and boy... do I hate that movie. For my personal values, it ended up hurting me. Thus, I've avoided his Hostel movies. Honestly, I'm wondering if he, or Quentin Tarantino know about Felidae.
