His point about activism was really smart. It kinda didn't really translate very well into the movie but I like how there was a lot more thought behind it then you would guess a movie about cannibalistic indians would have.

kravten ' Eli Roth's The Green Inferno turned out to be divisive due to him specifically making a big fat stab at Social Justice Warrior/Slacktivist culture, but it nonetheless makes two very practical points about why reckless social activism is more dangerous than helpful: there are bad guys who are very eager to take advantage of the attitudes fueling social activism to further their own ends; and the people you are trying to "defend" may not be as innocent as you thought. Because of the characters' shortsightedness and gullibility, almost all of the group dies in the captivity of the cannibal tribe they didn't realize they were defending and The Bad Guy Wins while being made a martyr for a phony cause.

+TheWickerMan1981 Hey man, I used to be a Eli Roth fan (just LOVE Hostel and Cabin Fever!!) but, right now, I'm just soooo DISAPPOINTED at him. The Green Inferno is nothing more than racist bullshit. The excuse that the film is meant to be "fiction" means very little to those communities at risk daily because forces are trying to cast them as "savages resisting modernization." In fact, these very samecommunities are a model for coexisting with nature that the rest of the world desperately needs. Using racist stories that use them as mechanisms of fear worse than irresponsible. Eli Roth and all the producers of this film should be ASHAMED.

+Norma Di Pardo Very likely, you know. Wouldn' t surprise me, as cinema is, we all know it, an illusion - "cinema is not an art which films life". Doesn't make it less horrible as a principle, though. Especially nowadays, with all thats been going on (see news on Brasil and the Amazon forest tribes struggle and the Mariana disaster).

who else thinks there needs to be a second part? For those who didn’t see it through till after the credits, Alejandro’s sister called the “only survivor” (Justine) and said she saw a satellite photo of Alejandro. So I really wanna know if Alejandro has now become part of them or something. Now to Eli,what was the main purpose of this movie? Why did Justine leave Alejandro behind (it was one part I liked though cos he was a dickhead)? Maybe for the same reason Justine did that. But why was Justine telling lies to the press and the VIP about what she saw and experienced? Someone crashing in your backyard is not an invasion of space to me. That doesn’t mean they should get eaten up.

Just as a point,if you strip away the gore and fake blood what do you have left? A barely interesting premise and a badly written script.I can't think of one profound thought provoking statement in this film.The premise is poser protesters,realy?Wow,that's realy interesting.Maybe one day when Mr. Roth grows into a fully matured adult his talent for script writing will grow as well.As for this mess,it's very juvenile,although Idon't think even adults should be viewing this,let alone children.

Mr. Roth's Jewishness shows through in this film where the main character has a friend who is jewish and makes a negative comment about protesters who she claims are white suburban jews and adds she is allowed to make such a comment because she is jewish herself,meaning if you aren't jewish you can't talk negatively about jews.Also,thay go to a college class where the professor talks about female mutilation being an African and muslim thing,wich is completely wrong,it is practiced by Africans in regions that are Christian,not muslim.I am sure Mr. Roth is aware of this,but his main objective is to make muslims look bad.And I find all this finger pointing quite ironic coming from America who is obsessed with plastic surgery,and jews with curcumcission.

+Jet Withdrawal In all honesty,I don't consider myself a racist because I have ,like most human beings,a very small amount to one degree or another,racial bias towards other races,all humans harbor some degree of racism.But'I have never tried to hide my antisemetic tendancies.I am not antisemetic because I just don't like the way jews look or act,my anti-Semitism is like so many others throughout history that have expelled jews from their lands or removed them from spheres of social influence because they were seen as a problem,and this is an issue that goes back many centuries with jews.But the case is with Mr. Roth's film is that I couldn't help notice that he finds it necessary to have that character be the only carachter in the film to verbaly point out her nationality as a jew.She is also the only one to be smart enough not to listen to the so-called poser protestors and thereby not going on this trip and being spared a horrible death.Why couldn't it be the black guy,or any of the others'who don't actualy point out their nationalities.Why does Roth spare the jew in this film?
@sadclown3433
@sadclown3433 9 жыл бұрын
+sad clown I also am curious about the way Roth adds to the script that jews are the only ones who can criticize other jews,no other nationality can criticize jews.

+Jet Withdrawal Yes,we are not talking about Tarentino,as I have stated before.Mr. Roth wrote the script,therefore, the character came from his mind.He can manipulate the character to suit how he wants the viewing audience to perceive a particular message,even in a subliminal way.Speilberg's Scindler's list is filled with subliminal messages.
